Default Wasn\'t Gus Logie the coach of Canada too, during WC 2003?

Coached by Gus Logie, the former West Indies batsman and coach, Bermuda can now start planning for cricket's biggest tournament.
Giant-killers Bermuda - we must be cautious against them.BBC

hay, even after so many years of playing test cricket we are scared of barmuda, our future is "ondhokar".

no, it was not gus logie who won the match for canada, its our team management who gifted them the victory. if u look back, how many of those batsman were supposed to be in the team? just look at the line up:

hannan
rokon
bashar
ehsanul haque
sanwar hossain
alok kapali

no magic of logie here.

actually in 03 many thought that WAS the best possible team...

It's easy to pick after the performance I mean only if we had bought some ebay stocks in early 90s right?

I don't know why you have Bashar up there? and with Ash's recent performance - he seems much better otherwise you wouldve had him in that line up as well.. a bit silly no?

beside ehsan sanwar...those are actually good players.

Orpheus, that is the exact lineup in order for batsman that played that match, ash did not play and bashar played at number 3. i just did not include the bowlers because it was the batsmen who failed, bowler did restrict them in 180 runs.

yeah... that was actually my point (though I forgot ash didn't play) - only recent performance of Ash is making the exclusion look bad...

Was canada the first match? I remember ash playing agianst Lanka.. Scored a duck by the way!

Cmon people, with a coach like Mohsin Kamal and players partying late night, it was obviously our team that gifted the match to Canad, not that they won it. If players maintained discipline that time, even that selection was more than good enough to beat Canada, now we have a lot better team under Whatmore.

Bermuda obviously made progress under Logie to beat teams like UAE, but I don't think they are good enough even to beat Canada.

Our team obviously under estimated Canada and Kenya. I remember all the players said that they would beat at least those two teams in their interviews before the tournamnet started. It appeared that they already won those two matches.

They have to take all the games seriously and should avoid saying anything like this for WC07.

Howeve, there is no doubt that Logie is a good coach. West Indies won the Champions Trophy in 2004 under his coaching, as soon as he left, the whole team went to toilet.

Yes, logie is a good coach and my post was not intended to make his coaching look ordinary or anything. but with all due respect, a coach can only do so much. yes, agree with watcher, the team should have beaten them nevertheless.

don't take anyone lightly but we have to belive we are way ahead of the likes of barmuda. in other words, engage 100% against them but don't even think of loosing.

Our team obviously under estimated Canada and Kenya. - We underestimated Canada, not Kenya - beating Kenya was just a pep-talk at the time.
