I feel BD will beat AFG inshAllah. Because after the loss to PAK, AFG is very demoralized.

I feel team management will not play Imrul, probably they will go with SS-Liton opening partnership.

My preferred team is:

Imrul
Sarkar
Mushfiqur (he is not no 3, but the time being, the best batsman must come at 3)
Mosaddek
Mahmudullah
Shakib
Miraz
Ariful
Mashrafe
Mustafiz
Nazmul Apu or Rubel

We need mushfiq and ullah to do our repair job

I'll put mossadek at 3 or Shakib

Now or never for mossadek, he plays spin, play it at Top vs the best

Imrul Sarkar are better than Litton and Shanto as of now

I'd go

Sarkar
Imrul/mominul
Mossadek
Shakib
Mushfiq
Ullah
Ariful
Mehedi
Mashrafe
Hider
Mustafizur

Lower orders have been the difference with Hider at 10 we have hitting power right till the end

It's because India doesn't want to play matches in Abu Dhabi. This Asia Cup is a joke, everything has been arranged to benefit them. They were given the most rest and given to play Hong Kong first to make sure they qualify. Then all the matches were pre-announced and fixture changed so that they don't have to play outside of Dubai.

My Squad:

1.Imrul

2.Mithun

3.Shakib

4.Mushfiq

5.Mosaddek

6.Mahmudullah

7.Miraz

8.Mashrafe

9.Abu Hider

10.Mustafizur

11.Nazmul Islam

We saw how spin dominated the game in Abu Dhabi and we couldn't put in a spinner in the last 6 overs as Afghanistan had 2 right-handed batsmen on the pitch and couldn't bowl around the wicket. Nazmul has bowled in death overs for T20 matches and so he can be trusted to bowl at that time.

You guys forgetting that Imrul is the one who has replaced Tamim, Soumya is there in case Mushfiq or Shakibs fitness is worsened. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Wwfnms6rvUQ(look at Akrams interview)

*Saying that Soumya can be picked too, but it is being told Imrul was the only demand from 'Team Management'.. (Soumya, lucky fella)

By the way Shakib like Mashrafe looked unhappy at the inclusions. At one stage today at the interview being asked frequently about Imrul/Soumya Shakib even said, 'Lets see first if they are selected in final XI..or not..'.

Well I don't. But nevertheless a fantastic, classic, old fashioned thread reminiscent of the pre-grungy mid 2005s retro era.

Met Mominul, Shanto and some of the younger players today; they could not decide where to eat at the mall and so offered some suggestions, haha!

They ended up going to an Emirati restaurant whose main dish is fried fish and rice

Save youself the trouble/sleep and carry on with your day. Its not like magically they will be able to tackle Rashid Khan in matter of couple of days, espacially with the inclusion of Sharkar And Kayes (won't even last long enough to face Rashid)

So the selectors want to avoid the blame by using "request by team management".

Stick with the same team, changes won’t make much difference to the result but the experience could help the youngsters learn if they are in the match. Only change I’d consider is soumya for someone and that’s only because of what he’s shown in the past, talent wise he’s possibly the best youngster in BD, certain nay hasn’t earned a return though.

I reckon stick with Liton, shanto and mosaddek for a bit longer. I think in reality unless players come along then Liton, soumya and shanto are the next long term top 3 bats. Mosaddek could easily become the next long term 4/5 (maybe mominul), especially if he does develop some sort of hitting ability. Eventually the seniors will need to be replaced so far these are the best we have found, maybe sabbir will come back, zakir might find his way up into the team other than that there’s mominul, anamul and possibly afif,al Amin.

Future batting:

1 Liton
2 soumya
3 shanto
4 mosaddek/mominul
5 mosaddek/mominul
6 sabbir/al Amin/afif
7 sabbir/al Amin/afif

Zakir would probably be top order, towhid might be in the mix...

That might be what we are looking at, better give them experience now so they have a chance of improving.

I feel this stadium is too big for BD batsmen to hit boundaries. Big stadiums take bigger hit to clear. Not that some of them cant hit 80+m sixes but on a big outfield like this it’s much more harder than a smaller outfield size knowing a misshit will not go into the hands unless its a bad misshit.

have to win this.... The boys need to come out attacking and not worry about Rashid too much. Last game, the damage was done before he even came on. Their batting was clueless and its our fault we let them slide away after controlling the innings for a good 40 overs. My squad would be,

Liton
Imrul
Mushy
Shakib
Mithun
Riyad
Ariful
Miraz
Mash
Fizz
Rubel

Hate to drop Shanto but thats why i didnt want him in the first place. Always said he should be introduced during an easier home series and given an extended run. Right now we cant afford to unfortunately. Last chance for Liton and then its lights out for him. And lets bring Ariful in... we are wasting that slot on Mosaddek for too long.

Our "secret tactic" by "think" "tank" "selectors" were to "play out" "Rashid" without losing "wickets".

Liton’s record may be a case of poor selection strategy. of course his record is his record but he’s played a small number of matches but inconsistently. If he had played all these matches consecutively then there’s a case that he’s been given a fair go but really he hasn’t. He got 9 innings in 2015 not so bad and dropped due to lack of performance, we should have then kept him around for another 10 or so matches or when he was brought back given him a good run but after 2015 he got 3 innings in 2017 (last match in October) and then back in the team nearly a year later this year with the first Asia cup match.

So he got an ok run in 2015 but he was still about 20 years old only, other than that his odi run hasn’t been consistent.

Mosaddek is a different case, he’s got a good solid run over the last 2-3 years but he’s only batted above 6 once and he’s clearly not a lower order quality odi bat even if he plays that role in domestics. He got a few months break end of December 2016 to March 2017 but was that scheduling of the national team? His other break was mid 2017 to mid 2018 but I think that’s been because of his eye issue? Even still he’s had 8 or more matches each time (though didn’t bat in all of the matches).
