So there is a high chance that not many foreign players would want to play after all this?

I feel sorry for the local players and support staffs too. Many will be afraid to say much because they don't want to upset the board I am guessing.

Everyone has to be paid regardless of who they are and how much it is. The less known people often get overlooked. Winning the BPL was a team effort and this includes the back room staff, off the field guys and support people. Without them, we couldn't have functioned.

i really don't know how these franchises expect to draw in and sign players for the next edition of the BPL going on the way they are. money is good but with contraversies and headaches like this, the top players are just going to bypass this tournament if it starts to become to much of a hassle. it's not like they need the BPL, there are still other t20 tournaments they can go to and get the bucks from and the players survived without it before.

This is seriously so embarrassing. BPL2 shouldn't be staged at all for these guys unprofessionalism.

I just don't get how these guys work. If at all there's a second edition next year, all these franchises should be dissolved and new firms and business associates that are willing to play professionally should be eligible for bidding. And there should be a cap on everything not just throwing money and bidding like wankers.

it's really disappointing because the tournament was well played by players and attracted some top talent and quality, great opportunity for local BD players to get more experience against quality opposition and also to learn and get used to the pressures of higher level cricket.

The entire payment process for any future edition needs to be handled by BCB. BCB needs to streamline any bureaucratic hurdles with the Government regarding transfer of large sums of money to foreign accounts from before hand. The image of the country and cricket board is at stake here. The Franchises should be forced to pay up to BCB in advance before the tournament begins in order to participate.

Default Half my pay is missing - Ian Pont

CI article by our own Isam: "The payments issue of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has been stirred once again with Ian Pont, the Dhaka Gladiators coach during the inaugural season, claiming he has not received half the money due to him. Pont's allegation came two days after the six franchises missed the latest deadline - July 21 - to complete all payments."

Complete article is at Half my pay is missing - Ian Pont.

I said I was 'set to leave' but have not yet resigned at this stage as my contract for 2012 is not complete.

The Shihab Trading Company has stopped communicating with ALL coaches, staffs and players. Very poor way to deal with people.

They need few more deshi batsmans for middle/lower order.

I would prefer Shabbir Rahman...would be very useful for number 7. Who can bowl and is tremendous fielder like Nasir

Confusion reigns over whether Lasith Malinga will play in the Bangladesh Premier League 2013. On Thursday evening, after the auction, the Dhaka Gladiators franchise that had bid for Malinga said they were not aware of his unavailability. But the Sri Lanka fast bowler's agent told ESPNcricinfo earlier in the day that Malinga hadn't "entered the auction".

It seems Dhaka Gladiators is the strongest team. They have bought most of the best players available.
