Default Kenya bowl Ireland out for 75 in First Class match

http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engin...ch/516849.html

Its a full strength Ireland side too. Kenya are an abject side these days and couldn't bowl out a team of quadriplegics let alone one of the premier Associate sides in the world. The fact is that we've played loads of away Tests and only once been bowled for under 75, if memory serves correct.

Yes, friends, Ireland are still a long ways away from catching up to us.

And now Kenya are crawling themselves at 48/6 in 17 overs. It's a 4-day match, in case the two teams didn't get the memo.

ireland are not good. why they are getting such fame? we have problem in our cricket, we lose often. but ireland have no track record of anything. a few one day wins?

we should invite them for first class, 4 day game, and thrash them. that will shut people up.

this maybe an aberration. ireland did well in intercon.
i may very well be wrong, ireland appears to be 4th, kenya 5th. afg champs.
but ire have won 3 tournys historically.

It just shows how longer version cricket, let alone Test cricket is no joke. That's why it's a good idea for Ireland to take time and develop their structure before they can get the Test status. I'm tired of other fans continuously saying that Ireland deserves the Test status and they should take Bangladsh's place. It takes decades to become a good Test playing nation.

Okay so this is as unique as it gets, and must be unprecedented as well:

22 wickets fell on Day 1, 22 catches taken, of which all but 1 was by a wicket-keeper.

I am not sure what to make of that...

I still favor Test status by 2020, if not immediately for IRE and AFG. At the very very least they should immediately be given plenty of ODIs against full members. Why AFG gets frozen out of the Asia Cup is beyond me.

That being said, when a full strength IRE side can get bowled out for 75 by Kenya, it shows something about our boys who have rarely been bundled that cheaply by the best attacks in the world.

must have been a super difficult pitch to bat on considering the scores by both teams.
At the end of the day it is the result that matters...

Agreed. I don't understand why they don't have Afghanistan and UAE in the Asia Cup. Asian teams that are in the Intercontinental Cup should be allowed to compete in the Asia Cup. It would give those teams a lot of exposure against the better teams.

In my opinion, we need to have a series against Ireland and Afghanistan every year. Ireland has given us a very hard time throughout the years and I believe it would be a good challenge for us to play them. Afghanistan is a team that also gave us a hard time in the Asian games. So I would like us to play these teams a lot more often.

this same Kenya lost a 8 match T20 series to Uganda 6-2. they lost a 50 over match by over 200 runs to Uganda couple years back.

Irish are really slumping. they're nowhere near as good as Bangladesh U-19 team.

Problem is not with Irish fans, Irish fans have every right to be bullish about their team and they deserve a lot more support from the ICC esp with the ECB screwing em by taking all their players.

The problem is with idiot Indian and Pakistani fans, and their Bangladeshi traitor butt-buddies who think Ireland and Afghanistan are somehow on a par with us or even better than us. Pathologic hatred for Bangladesh being the teratogen that produces such retardation.
