McCullum will wish he'd declared earlier. Funny how he wanted to bat on longer!

Great job England and NZ, but Prior was the difference!

Technically New Zealand lost. Couldn't pickup these last 4 wickets. They had all day.

What a Test match, Pure Test cricket,
how I long for the day when Bangladesh is involved in one as nail batting as this, be it the batting side or fielding side, it doesn't matter

They shouldn't have let Monty take that single! 3 more balls would've been a lot for number 11 at this stage.

Jules: "Dear NZ fans, I know sympathy is not what you wanted (especially from an Aussie), but you're team has almost won more respect through this than if that bail had fallen off and they'd won. Well done."
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure NZ fans would want the W more.
- Should they enforced follow-on?
- Should they have declared sooner?

Sorry but never. These sort of games and atmosphere is only created by the "original" teams. Hell, I highly doubt India-Pak-SL can do something similar. Their games get dull from the toss or one sided.
This would've been lot better if it was full house.

How could they have stopped the single?
I think they should have bowled Martin for the last over even though he was bowling bad all game, Monty can't play spin to save his life and all it needed was one ball in the right area.

Do you mean that those teams would never be able to get in a situation like this game or that the fans wouldn't get excited in a game like this?

I think the declaration was ok as they created enough chances but dropped too many

This was a nail-biting series winning draw that I will remember all my life! We played out 142 overs. Javed Omar and Nafees Iqbal batted 82 odd overs for an opening partnership of 133. JO scored 43 of 258 balls while Nafees made 121 of 358. Best rearguard action ever witnessed in a match saving cause.

Surprised NZ didn't win this. Pitch didn't deteriorate as much. Dropping Bell before lunch proved costly. They could've enforced the follow on. NZ played well throughout the series.

Shocked NZ couldn't pull of the series win!
NZ have been doing very well in Test cricket the past year or so. Wins in AUS and SL, and a near win vs England + 2 draws...most of that without Vettori. They will be a stern Test when they come knocking in October. We should give them a 3 Test tour.

I thought England would miss someone like Collngwood for this test but Ian Bell and Prior proved to be equally good at stonewalling attacks to save the game. I wish we had someone like that in our line up who could simply bat for 200-300 balls when the match needed to be saved
