Default 2019 World Cup XI

1. Tamim
2. Soumya
3. Imrul
4. Mushfiq
5. Shakib
6. Riyad
7. Sabbir
8. Nasir
9. Miraz
10. Mashrafee
11. Mustafiz

No more experiments before wc with newbies who cant do jackshit. Use the experienced players cuz most of our senior players wont be available for 2023 wc.

Sabbir, soumya, nasir has shown and played great innings beside the seniors and they should be persisted with.

They were in wc 2015, india, pakistan, sa series and played a role in our success. I watched all the bd matches since 1994 till present. I think even tho they are similar kind of players, they both have abilities to dig deep, build partnerships as well be aggressive when needed. Mosaddek, nurul are not in the same level and hasnt shown any glimses as such.

Our pacers are useless anyway except mustafiz and mash. What is rubel gonna do, get a hattrick?

We need a proper seam bowler who can swing in english conditions. Someone like Syed Rasel would have been excellent in this conditions. Another player mismanaged by bcb.

But to your point, we can and will most likely go with 3 seamers, in that case one of miraz or nasir can be replaced.

Liton and Sarkar might struggle more when the ball seams against decent quality bowling. You can only take one but not both in the team imo

Need to go with 3 pacers in England. I’d add Subashish Roy, he will do well in England with the new ball. BD need new ball partner with Mashrafe. Mustafizur is a better bowler with older ball, so is Rubel.

I’d go with this.
Tamim Iqbal
Liton Das
Mushfiqur Rahim
Shakib Al Hasan
Sabbir Rahman
Mahmudullah Riyad
Arfiul Haque
Mehedi Hasan
Mashrafe Mortaza
Subashish Roy
Mustafizur Rahman

Bench:
Sarkar, Kayes, Rubel, Nazmul Opu, Mossadekk.

The original squad would definitely be a top contender for the '15 WC

I do not think Nasir will get selection. But Shabbir will.

About Ash it is 50/50, if Nannu sustains then no possibility. Otherwise I think most seniors would prefer him in the 15 man squad.

I personally think in English condition, scoring big is not easy. You need gutsy dogged innings building partnerships. So, there is a big possibility that Mominul will be part of the team as well.

This is my playing XI for WC2019.

1) Tamim Iqbal ( to play like Tamim Iqbal)
2) Soumya Sarker (to play like Sanath Jayasuriya, regardless)
3) Imrul Kayes v.2 (the best top order batsman statistically since 2015 except Tamim)
4) Musfiqur Rahim ( The best player at 4)
5) Sakib Al Hasan
6) Mahmudullah Riyad ( He should not bat lower than 6 to maximize his potential)
7) TBD (To be determined based on BPL 2019, but not mosaddek as he has no power game and not the same player after his eye injury)
8) Mehedy Miraz ( this kid is still improving fast)
9) Mashrefe Mortaza (I wish him best of luck for his final Hurrah)
10) Rubel Hussain (For his extreme pace)
11) Mustafizur Rahman ( to fizzle out the opponents)

Thank you !

Have you checked his recent stats? Rubel has been great.

A little 'check' and a push with some 'incentive' might solve all their statistical problems.

I like this team. sabbir and nasir will raise our fielding quality. they are both quality player but not managed well. I will keep mosaddek, mithun, najmul opu and rubel in the mix. that will make best 15

I'd rather personally drop 400k and have the board sign Ash for an exclusive WC contract. That's a chance I am willing to take. Betting man, thass'all.

Horses for courses
Or
Play your strength?

Which gives you an advantage on who we are playing (opponent's strengths and weaknesses) and where (pitch) and when (D/N or Rain)? Determine that first then see who did well in similar conditions (National or A team tours) and then you try to form a team. Not whimsically/ my gut feeling or just because "I said so".
