Hope he knows what he's talking about. Don't know how an interview with a newspaper can cause pressure.

*** may be you are right.. but looking at the way he plays ..it is difficult to imagine that he has good cricketing sense.. many talented batsmen do not have it.. no question about his talent though.. who knows does not take much to learn!!!

A whole gang of slightly less talented but far more consistent group of batsmen are about to explode into the scene who could make it difficult for him to even make the team.

I hope he grows up fast.

He is mature enough?! I like to believe that.
There is nothing wrong if he give an interview in newspaper, but no foolish talk!
Better he should accept that interview and show his responsibility and maturity.
Peoples expectations on him is higher than he think, hope he learn and realize that soon.
Good luck Ash, our next captain!!!

btw, the link is not working.

I don't really understand this policy, since it seemed like Rajin was the chosen one for the captaincy of the national side, and now they are obviously looking at other options. Did Rajin captain the side really badly in England? I cant really remember!

As for Ashraful, I think he has got it right in terms of trying to lead by example. Its always a tricky one. Captaincy does wonders for certain players and completely destroys others. We'll have to wait and see which category Ashraful falls in. If he actually takes on the captaincy and it has a positive impact on his batting, ie he bats more sensibly and for longer, then that would be great! It might even happen. Maybe its something like the responsibility of leadership that will do it for Ashraful, who knows.

Well, I want whoever will be the best captain to be our future captain. We just don't know that will be yet so giving them a few opportunities is a good way to find out.

I think the idea of putting Ashraful to mature him up is a fantastic idea. I don't think the selectors are hoping to make him a future captain. Its just 2 or 3 games. No big deal.

Keep your eyes on Ashraful more than anyone else. This will tell a lot about who he will be in the long run.

I hope so. Ash has the style and stamina to become a great batsman like Ponting ( ektu beshi bollam hoito ). I believe with his added responsibility, he will deliver this time.

I'm not sure if you guys will agree with me or not but I think Ash, who can be a matchwinner at times, is our most unreliable batsman. Im not having a good feeling about the fact that he's the captain. I hope he'll do well and change my mind about him...but I dont see it coming.
