Congrats Saif Hassan on a maiden List A century in only his second match at this level...

May this be the first of many to come...

All the best

True that...

He can hit sixes at will, and yet his style of play is subdued

^^ Perhaps he can hit few sixes on small BKSP ground. Lets see if he can do that on Mirpur or Fatullah.

Eshen bro, gave a description on the Savar(3) ground where the match was played, please?

^^ Those grounds belong to BKSP, the main sporting school in Bangladesh. Mainly known as practice grounds, they are used for many domestic matches when traveling outside Dhaka is not an option or not convenient. Here is the map capture and wiki page if you want to further look into them-

https://www.google.com/maps/place/BK...06d985b83c1385

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangla...ricket_grounds

Those are the grounds where even Farhad Reza holds a double century.

Just missed out on a half-century, scored 47 from 70 odd deliveries...high SR by his standards...

Which national squad?? Under-19? Senior?

For me, an optimist, I would love to see him and Mominul batting for days in Tests

he is wayyy to slow. need to change his attitude to suit present day cricket. i was very upset to see him in the top order of under 19. one of the main reason why we failed in under 19

Both. Did enough damage last WC. He would have been a great talent for the 1999 squad.

Rajin saleh's influence surely can't be helping, have a look at the strike rates of the top 6 for this last match, they all got 10 plus but bar one they were all striking at 65 or under and they were chasing down 290.

I agree to a certain extent that he needs to re-invent himself as a batsman who is more opportunistic of the situations. His List A SR sits at 67.14...this can improve over time once he adopts the aforementioned approach.

He's only 17. I'm still 100% behind him.

If and when he improves i will make a U turn and be 100% behind him too. In domestic ODIs good players should maintain 90- above 100 strike rate. If players cannot find gaps against the Abuls then there is zero possibility they will get the ball off the square in international cricket. All these 70 ball 50s are not great indicators of international quality. We need to look out for players who set themselves apart from the rest, go out there and dominate consistently. The current international players playing DPL are doing that and we need to see who else is able to do that too.

Well put and very well said Jadukor bro...

Even though Saif has 3 runs more than his Under-19 colleague Shanto, his SR is below below average compared to him. Shanto's SR is 92.89.

I have high hopes for both of them.

Good innings of 86 off 101 balls for Saif. He didn't get any kind of support the other end as his team fell short in the chase....

His SR in this match was 85.14...with 7 fours and 2 sixes....

At least he's consistent, he can work on the strike rate, he is only just starting his career.

Yes, yes....all of this is a learning process. He's playing against the big boys and he's up to the task....it's not an easy road.

When someone is struggling, you don't pull him down even more. The best thing to do is to give him encouragement and support.

Played a good knock today at a strike rate of close to 100...he was agressive at times.

Definitely one of his better innings so far. 78 (79)

And he opened the bowling...went at. Economy over 6...but picked up a wicket...and his team won!!

He's up there in the top 10 in the Dhaka Premier LEAGUE batting list...

350 runs from 7 innings at an average of 50.00..with a strike rate that ever improving. He is the rock in the CCS side.
