After 3 long years of absence, it is finally Back!!!

BanglaCricket Announces Awards for different categories for achievements in sports in 2011.

Here are the categories:

U-19 Cricketer of the Year
Woman Cricketer of the Year

Domestic Bowler of the Year
Domestic Batsman of the Year
Domestic Cricketer of the Year

T20 Cricketer of the Year

ODI Bowler of the Year
ODI Batsman of the Year
ODI Cricketer of the Year

Test Bowler of the Year
Test Batsman of the Year
Test Cricketer of the Year

Emerging Cricketer of the Year
Cricketer of the Year
Cricket Event of the Year

Non-player personality of the year:


Here is the timeline:

Post your nominee: Anyone can submit nominee for one or more categories. You can have multiple nominees for each category if you want. This is only to make a final list. The last date is: December 12th.

Vote for the award: A separate forum will be created and there will be a poll for each of the fields where you can vote. You will have only one vote per category. The last date to vote will be December 31st.

The results will be announced on or after January 1st 2012.


If anyone willing to volunteer for this event (specially regular member, and even more specially members from Dhaka), please post here or send me a message.

You can even submit your own category. If it is early enough so members have time to submit nominees, we'll consider it.

It would have been much better to have awards for last year - when we actually had multiple people playing well. This year, barring the discovery of Nasir, has been pretty disappointing results-wise

Another whitewash looming large against Pakistan.

Not sure what sort of award we would want to hand out to the players !!!
Its surely good to have the Awards back in BC, but I think we picked the wrong year for the comeback.

Only silver lining is Nasir. However, a status I liked yesterday, was that Shakib 7 times scored high and had most wickets (ODI) among the epics.
