IN SBNCS in day night ODIs batting first we won 1 out of 12 games, and bowling first we won 4 out of 11 games in last 5 years. So bowl first is very important.
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/eng...am;view=ground
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/eng...am;view=ground

Compared to that day matches have little impact on outcome: bat first won 6/11, bowl first: 7/12. (last 3 years, day matches at SBNCS )
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/eng...am;view=ground
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/eng...am;view=ground

And this one needs a little double checking on you guys' part. It appears Mushy has marshalled the team in 12 ODIs so far (?) and has won the toss 8 times. 67% probability we will win toss, and then 4/11 probability we will win = .67*.36 = 25% probability, mind you just based on toss and record. NO SKILL ACCOUNTED FOR (Zunaid bhai!). Just the cold cold hearted numbers. If we lose the toss, and Sammy makes us bat ta hoiley kintu khobor asey.

4 is the best - chinta koira dekhsen biya hoiley bashar modhdhey ki obosta hoibo? Palan palan ekhono shomoi asey. Kanta rey biya korley sharadin rait kantey hoibo.

Lastly, and this again someone from metereology can help, the dew point for that night is 43 F and the temperature will be 67 F. Humidity of 45%. http://www.accuweather.com/en/bd/dha...st/28143?day=2
The rate of temperature drop is 1 F/hr with dew oint decreasing at .33 F per hr - it appears that the ground will cool slowly with zero cloud cover past 6 pm. And here is my best guess that dew will play a role but not significantly. That's all I could do.
http://www.accuweather.com/en/bd/dha.../28143?hour=41

And for ZUnaid Bhai: I know it can be finessed more, but someone else can if they wish. This is a start and always can be improved.

today Dhaka will become WI favorite ground unless otherwise our team totally give 200% and overcome all the problems (e.g. grounds, dew, D/N, crowd pressure etc.)

There will be some crowd pressure no doubt. All the tickets are sold.

That's a great decision. Practicing under flood light always help during D/N matches

Default great pick but

Its looks great pick but I would love to pick Zia instead of Rubel becouse SBNS is gona be low and the pacer wont get that much out of it, then why i wouldn't pick Zia couse I want the batting line more stronger with spin and pace zia is amiles way ahead of Rubel, Rubel is a good bowler but considering the match situation and the pitch Zia should be in the team incase we need him to bat in the lower order,so Mash Razz and Gazi will bowl 30 Overs and Mahmudullah, Nasir, Naeem and Zia will share the other 20 Overs, thats how we can be stronger in batting and bowlling as well, please correct me if I am wrong, thanks every one and the BEST Wishes for the Tigers

05.Nasir
06.Mominul
07.Mahmudullah
08.Mortaza
09.Gazi
10.Razzak
11.Rubel

I think its best to go with Rubel because he can bowl very good yorkers unlike Abul and some good bouncers. Plus he has a very good economical and ODI average with a decent strike rate with the ball.

3. There were no contest in the First two games, but the Dhaka games are expected to be opposite.
4. WI might have ignored the recent ODI success of BD due to the Test series win and they being the T20 chmps. Fair chance that they have understood their mistake of underestimating the BD team.
I want an expert opinion about 2nd point. If the 2nd point is true, does it really matter who bat or bowl first? Or am I missing something?

Contradictory statement.

Due to dew factor at night, the team who wins the toss should bowl first (bat last) so that spinners can extract some spin and bounce from the pitch during day time. Otherwise, the spinners will suffer to grip the ball during night time.

Far too much expectation. Reminds me of BD v Ind world cup matches!!!

Too much pressure - I hope we don't fall flat on the ground just like the WC 58/all.

My prediction is that we will lose this match and we will lose quite badly (biggest margin/lowest score etc type of result). Gayle will score 100 in the fastest time ever and Bravo will hit 200. Final score touching 400 if they are batting first.

If we are batting first, then may Allah bless us all.

I am scared

SN -3

Razzak (+3 for spin friendly pitch, -2 for unfriendly pitch)

If you want to find out expected result/outcome than yes SVM is my guess too, but if you want to choose players based on opponents, ground, month of the year, recent performance etc, I would suggest Rule based learning C4.5 (decision tree).

May be something our selectors and team management can consider.

Not sure how Gayle will play though... so far the tentative approach has not worked for him so he might go all out from first ball this time.

Whatever happens the pressure is fully on West Indies. They are the recent world-cup winning higher ranked side with power hitters. We simply have to keep doing the same thing we have been doing which is to bowl good line and length and not give them freebies. If we do that and still WI make 270-280, we do have the batting talent to chase it down. We have handled WI bowling in ODIs very well. Rampaul has been the only threat so far and we can neutralize him if we are careful against the short pitched delivery.
That has not worked against Shohag either. But, he will likely have at least one century at SBNS. It would be great if we can win that match.

It will be Gayle 333* and Bravo 150, with WI scoring 650/4. Shohag Gazi's line will be 10-3-260-0 (8 wide balls and 42 sixes).

I also think we will lose this 1 but come back and win the 4th or/and 5th.

Well, see it this way - wake up at 3:30 am, have a hot cup of tea after breakfast, take a lep and balish and enjoy the series win!
