Gifts for younger sister's husband
Hi guys,
My younger sister might get married in Bangladesh at the end of this year (InshahAllah)
I was thinking what is normally given as gifts to the groom in Bangladesh these days. I would appreciate if this view is from the Brother's (me) side rather than what a groom wants.
I dont want to over do it as I have to dish out alot on plane tickets.
Any ideas please.
Thanks in advance.

Don't buy him anything. It might send out the wrong message. Just give him a massive dirty look with eye contact and all should be fine.

pay for their honeymoon. Or give them something that has some utility for them... Or give them cash so that they can buy the things that they need.
Otherwise, if your sister and groom are settling in BD, then get them things that that will be useful in BD but not easily available. If I were you, I would talk to my sister, and figure out what will be useful for them. Giving a good gift should require doing some homework

Find out from your Sister what he is into... whether it's a phone, guitar, watch etc and then get him a good one.

You couldnt go wrong with Iphone/Ipad/Smartphone these days.
Check with your sister first though.
If he already got an Ipad, no point giving a second one.
If you are flying from overseas to attend the function, chances are he would be rather hoping (secretly) for some gadget.
Best of luck to your sister and your future brother in law.
May Allah bless them with a happy married life.

Many thanks for the mature answer and wishes.
My sister/mum wont tell me what to get as us attending will be most appreciated and they know how much ticket prices will be then.
The young man lives in Australia, so I guess he will have gadgets and good gadgets in the UK are quite priecy £350-£450.
However here is what I was thinking of putting in his goodie bag :
- A shirt
- A tie
- Cuff links
- A watch
- Colonge set
I would like to hear your comments of what colours, designs or brands are preferred in Bangladesh. I will also appreciate if you can give me an idea of any other items to include.

Honeymoons are quite expensive from Bangladesh form what I have heard. But do you have any ides of how much they cost?
My father will be providing the useful stuff for them. I was looing for items to put in a gift bag for the young man.

Put a picture of your sister in the gift bag. When he pulls it out tell him your life story with you and your sister and detail every happy moment you two spent together eg playing ludo when you were kids and how you used to play carrom late at night and stuff like that. Tell him how much you love your sister. Keep emphasising that. And then have a sudden change in your tone and say "if you do anything to my lil sis, if she upset or hurt in any way then i will f*** you over so badly that you will wish that you didn't know me". Adding an angry face whilst saying it will give it a nice touch.
And then after tell him "here you go i hope you enjoy the gift bag" and smile nicely after.

BTW Adam I think you are putting in way too much thoughts to it. Buying for a guy is the easiest thing in the world. You can't go wrong or right.
Listen if you really wanna make an impression buy him a BMW lol. My father in law is piss poor so I didn'tget aanything.....got a 20 dollars shirt...still pissed of at that. His son however married a rich girl and got a Mercedes.

Sorry Mr adamnsu for my immature reply. First of all what I wrote was very light sarcasm. Anyway I do not have any younger sibling so never had to go through the headache of choosing perfect gift.
But if I had a young sister, my gift would be his and her Rolex watch.

1. An Islamic clock that will call azan 5 times a day (in Australia we donot hear azan)

3. A set of Bukhari Sharif (sahih hadith collection)
