I love Afghan rice and their kebab. It's incredibly good. Their rice is long grained, buttery, colorful if mixed with brown rice, and a bit on the sweet side. However combined with kebab, which is juice and marinated with herbs, it's the perfect combo. Afghan people are strong and proud. I hope our Elish mach can over power their chicken kebab.

BTW, (side-topic) I've been wondering what happens when prayer time comes during the game? Anyone with insight?

Let me tell you guys, dont get your hopes high for this one or against them in the T20 World Cup. I fear a defeat is looming. We are not going to be able to take the pressure, players short of confidence, the confident ones are out of the team and the ones in the team are out of form. Our bowling sucks to the max, there is no wicket takers. All in all, a disaster around the corner. Atleast you heard it here first! We are losing this one!

If mushfiq is out due to that shoulder injury then i guess it would be wise and would be highly of the team's interest to let shakib play after all. All this is not worth loosing to Afghanistan.

Fear not guys. Afghans can't play spin. If our Razzaq and co and keep them at bay by bowling in the right areas and create pressure they will crumble. They are a good unit but not experienced enough. Against us will be their 4th ODI against a Test playing nation.

They have a couple of good bowlers but nothing our boys can't handle. Chasing or defending I think we will triumph.

With Mash out and if Mushy also doesn't play things would be really bad for us. Anyways, hoping Mushy would play then this would be my XI against the Afghans:

1. Imrul
2. Shamsur
3. Mominul
4. Mushy (c)
5. Naeem
6. Anamul (wk)
7. Nasir
8. Zia
9. Arafat
10. Razzak
11. Al-Amin

We need to strengthen both our batting and spin department if we are to win against Afghanistan comfortably. No use playing 3 pacers against them seeing how they handled Gul & co.

Hamid Hassan will play this game. He was rested against Pak so can play against us. Afghans definitely doing their homework. Our players and coaches probably busy eating murir moa a

The selectors can end up with something like this:

Imrul
Shamsur
Anamul
Nayeem
Mominul
Nasir
Zia
razzak
shafiul
Shohag gazi
Rubel

Now you may question what is imrul Nayeem Shafiul and Gazi doing here...looks like team from 2011 who only fought for sommanjonok porajoy.

looking forward to this match, too many bed time stories from BC members regarding Afghan beating BD.
let's see what happens.
This actually is the best chance for Afghan to beat us as we are missing out many senior players.

BTW, I prefer that Afghan food.

PS: looking fast forward to NAsir vs Shapooriya

Razzak is likely to lead if mushy does't pass his fitness test tomorrow morning. Sunny will be in for Gazi and al Amin for Mash according to various newspapers.

AFG has a good fast-bowling attack, but that's about it. Their batting is subpar both technically and strategically. They've someone with a 54 SR at 3, and their best batsman bats at 5. It seems their strategy is to survive without losing many wickets as long as possible and, then, hit out in the end.

Winning of course is a must - and unless we play very poorly, we should - but getting a bonus point is also of utmost importance at this stage. It may significantly improve our chances of making the final. Mushy not making it would be a blow, and AFG will have the most amount of motivation in this match of the tournament, though. So, getting that bonus point may not be easy.

We saw a lot of improvements from the SL ODIs to the India game. Hopefully, we'll continue to get better. Versus India, one or two players gifted their wickets (which is much better than before, but there's still room for improvement), Naeem and not Zia coming on at the batting PP overs made no sense, we should have pushed for more runs toward the end, and Zia not bowling more and the reason given for that didn't make any sense either. Our confidence/morale must have improved after the last game even though we lost, our decision-making needs to improve more, and there's a lot of room for improvement strategically.

My preferred lineup: Anamul, Shamsur, Momin, Mushy/Imrul, Naeem, Nasir, Zia, Sohag/Arafat, Razzak, Rubel, Al-Amin

Sohag/Arafat is the only q-mark for me along with where Imrul should bat if Mushy can't make it. Sohag is probably better for this match esp. if Mushy can't play.

Why do I get the feeling our long tail will cause us problems.

Potentially:

7. Ziaur
8. Razzak
9. Sunny
10. Al Amin
11. Rubel
