He should aim to catch tamim up in number of tons, only a couple more and they'll be equal. He's quickly moving up test runs chart as well, riyad only just passed saleh this series and mominul has as well now. He just has to pass SN and Omar then mushy is the next one on the list.

He has a terrific mindset which is why he's done so well, obviously has the talent but the mindset makes the difference, he looks comfortable every innings, taking his time, not feeling pressure, not taking risk too often, he plays in a very mature way and he's not often out becuase of the opposition it's usually because he had a slight lapse, so even though he's already doing so well he can still get even better if he can cut out some of those lapses.

Personally, I would be disappointed if he let his average fall below 55, and ideally he should aim to keep a 60+ average. But given the nature of our wickets and the ICC's continued conspiracy to give our batsman out without benefit of the doubt and no extend that same benefit to our bowlers (Mominul's dismissals in the WI vs Panyangara's lbw appeal in the first Test, or Shahadat's caught behind by Taylor), Mominul will be battling not only the pitch and Zimbabwe's bowlers, but the ICC as well.

Shakib did absolutely nothing in his first 6 tests..the turning point in his career was the NZ test were he got 7/32..from that test he avgs 41.23 with bat and 29.45 with ball

I'd be careful rating him high. He's played more than half his games at Home under batting friendly conditions and against average to below average opponents. In addition, he has only played one series outside of Asian conditions, in the west indies against a sub par team, where he averaged 30.

Even if he turns out to be a flat track bully only, he is still a good asset for the team, as we will be playing most of our Test matches at home in next 7-8 years.

That wasn't my expectations at all, no way! Even Sachins and Pontings couldn't do that. I meant can he can maintain a healthy avg. over long period of time, not just 12 games...

He's maintained a 60 average for 27 innings, highly impressive.

Has a whopping average of 82.00 in the 4th innings.

His overall 2nd innings average is 78.44.

His average in away games is much lower, but still a respectable 36.66.
