Wait - you are celebrating the 9th loser? It's like how in my daughter's progressive elementary school all kids got participation certificates as they didn't want anyone's self esteem to be harmed.

Yea, celebrate for being the champ among the loosers. Next time there will be a new category named 'Paper' for the teams of 17th to 24th with BD at 17th.

In reference to post #1 . You should have been celebrating like sangakarra did when he made his 18 th ODI century. I don't know how you would have celebration if this youth actually made it to the final. But nevertheless, great enthusiasm by this thread Creator.

We only lost one game in the entire tournament. Unfortunately "luck" wasn't in our favor.
Four other teams can say that.
Bd, Ind, Aus, SA/Pak. If Pak loses in the finals then they will join the other group. So this is a good company. England, SL, WI, NZ can't say that. Mercy!!

I understand you guys are all hurt right now with the seniors performance in SL ODI-1 game. Do not take your anger on the tiger cubs. They are the future.

Yeah tough luck. All we lost was one match which we did fairly well in before throwing it away.

I blame the tournament format for this. Why the hell they went with NRR instead of head to head in which case Bangladesh would have made it to next phase and would give other teams run for their money.

Reading some of the comments - but it would be better to win the plate than to lose it - no?
They beat NZ.

ya 9th place is nothing to celebrate about.
But on the other hand the team is not bad as some people are saying.
Yes we just one game, but the most critical one and we lost pretty bad knowing that it will kill our chance. Otherwise we won all the games even some of them are meaningless.
Strength wise we are better than 9th position. Its the format that is not reflective of relative team's position. Its not just us, other teams were also victim of that.

But the celebration of mediocrity must continue. Reminds me of parents who give their kid a medal for finishing 5th.

Shadman Islam is the highest run getter in the World Cup, meaning we've produced highest run getters in back-to-back World Cups

this is not an achievement, don't see any reason to congratulate them.
we always start with high hopes, beating all big team in pre stage and then lose and can't qualify for quarter even

Another bunch of loosers in the making..That was proven in the match against Australia, when the stake was high and win was must, they failed miserably whereas Afghanistan chased brilliantly. Shadman is going to be flop in the long run just like Nasir, Gazi or Tamim.

4 prospect from under 19 team
1. shadman islam--very consistent, in year or two or three he will be under radar for national team, if he can continue form like this
2. mehedy hasan-- don't know why he batted so lower order, he is a ideal all rounder in this team plus captain, still in 17s, so will lead next under 19 wc and might win another plate
3. mosaddek--- get more success in bowling than batting, definitely to watch out
4. Nihaduzzaman--another spinner, who can bat a bit
rest are not mentionable
