I remember people here discussing magnus carlsen when anand defeated topalov back in 2010. well, he is the challenger this time, in what is billed as the most important game in chess since the legendary fisher-spassky face-off decades back.

game 1 has finished in which anand forced a draw with black.

I would have given Kramnik even odds to have unseated Anand at sometime during the past 5 years but Anand has turned out to be one of the greats. I would put him just after Kasparov in my list of current greats. Carlsen really has a good chance this year. What a prodigy!

Congrats! Carlsen might end up being a long running champion like Kasparov. Of course, there is always another prodigy lurking in the wings. Hope his name is Mintu and is from Chapai Nobabgonj.
