Please, can Bangladesh players boycott the 2nd Test?
I am shocked to read about the treatment to Shakib al Hassan by Pussy Kamal.
Even if it was my Indian team players - (meaning, if this happened to Indian player in India) - I'd advocate a boycott of the Test
No armbands nothing, just a total strike and boycott.
Until Pussy Kamal is disgracefully dismissed from his position, all the main BD squad players should not play.
Even as an Indian cricket fan, my blood boils seeing the treatment to another International reputed player like Sakib. Can't imagine this at all.

Why!?? Why cant or wont they?
Why cant the other Bangladesh players grow a spine and boycott till they get rid of such lowlife like Pussy Kamal? They should support the (current) captain whole heartedly.
They must do this. Playing the Test-2 will be a joke otherwise.
Today it is Shakib, tomorrow?
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out.

No, they cant.
The situation on hand is not the end of the world. If you keep a team like India stranded in the middle of our domestic and could-have-been-avoidable issue; and at a time when more countries are reluctant to host us, we might give them more fuel to even contemplate stop travelling on our shores altogether.
Atleast we can host them now. When we start to perform good and consistently, they would automatically invite us back. Till then, this home games are vital for the survival of our cricket.
Players boycotting today would actually mean they would boycott their own career and livelihood.

Althought I may be agreeing from my own selfish p.o.v. of actually wanting to see a game today.

A strike will just start a debacle - which is unwanted for. Cricket is so high profile now that a simple comment on any part can create behemoth. The best reply would be to play with heart and show the world and the fans the true value of a cricketer.

Cric_mady, what i meant was if we even fail to host a sizeable amount of international cricket at home, the money from media rights would dry up which would drastically effect the growth of our cricket.
Without money, BCB would be unable to sustain the level of growth it requires to develope our cricket and take it to the next stage. That would lead to a drastic fall in our standards and we would be reduced to play more often with the associate teams.
Now, you cannot punish 160 million for a "big-mouth/youthful exubarence" mess which involved to a certain extend, two individuals; can you?

Rabz is right. Boycott is out of question. Its a high stakes cricket match. Intl media will quickly align us with Pak style domestic problems without knowing or caring for the details , something we don't want to get attached to.

Easy easy, no need to get high. He was just expressing his opinions out of emotion. I'm sure he gets it now after a few of us explained the matter above.
A boycott wouldn't help and would rather complicate other stuff related to our cricket. Let's keep it cool until this match ends, we'll see if there are more to come.

beamer and rabz are right...lets wait till after the series to settle this issue.
lotus is a nobody. don't make him that important.
at a time when we play less test cricket than we should, we need to play every match we can. especially agaainst a team like India.
boycott would kill our cricket.

Players ARE boycotting the match today, from looks of the innings so far, not a single batsman showed up for Bangladesh.
