This Bangladeshi management is bogus because right people are not running it, it has nothing to do with nationality. when BCB was run by Saber hossain chowdhury BCB was an example for other countries. ACC was run buy a Bangladeshi for several years, Ashraful haque

we have more than capable people but like everything else in the county all is ruined by politicians and greedy people

Kohli named in TIME most influential list.

Lol, you must have a pretty low intelligence, to think Kohli is one of the most influential people in the world, maybe he will develop the cure for cancer next.

he is influential. he is the biggest star in the 2nd most populated country in the world. he easily influences hundreds of millions of Indians.

go through the list. if Cardi B, Rihanna can be on the list then I don't see why Kohli can't be. Btw, it includes Sheikh Hasina as well.

Kohli wants to play county cricket instead of the Afghanistan test, BCCI are against it. On the one hand India more than likely don’t need kohli there to get a win though Rashid and mujeeb may cause trouble. In saying that is it disrespectful for the opposition captain to sit out a test match against a team playing their first ever test match?

I thought it was a very good decision for kohli to play county to rectify his record in England and help his team over there, but maybe he has to miss a couple of games to play this test.

Great injustice to Mossadek. What did he not to do to merit a contract? Was out because of some type of infection, and then never returned.

Mossadek is a must for ODI.

Really hope India try out Samson, Shaw and Gill against Afghanistan, and Rahul should definitely be in the starting xi.

Abdul Razzaq to make comeback aged 38

Quote:
Former Pakistan allrounder Abdul Razzaq, who last played internationally five years ago, has picked up his bat again to make a surprise comeback at the age of 38. Razzaq has signed a contact with Pakistan Television to play in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy, and is aiming to be involved in the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) next year.

This will be fun.

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan may join politics and run for parliamentary elections, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has hinted.

Kamal, a former president of Bangladesh Cricket Board, also sought vote for Mashrafe in the next general elections, describing the ODI captain as a ‘good person’ while speaking to reporters after a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council on Tuesday.
“Mashrafe may contest in election. Please vote for him,” said Kamal, who had also worked as president of the International Cricket Council.

Asked if Mashrafe will get the ruling Awami League’s ticket, Kamal said, “Have I said that he will contest in the election as an Awami League candidate? He can also contest as a BNP candidate.”
“But, please cooperate with him, vote for him…He is a good person. He always follows what he decides for himself,” the minister added.

Sport organiser Kamal is an owner of the Bangladesh Premier League franchise Cumilla Victorians, for which Mashrafe played in the first two editions of the tournament.

“He made us champions in the first year and gave nothing the next,” Kamal joked.

Mashrafe has announced to play until the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

“I am also involved with the game as well as elections,” Kamal said when a reporter asked him if the cricketer would be eager to contest in the parliamentary polls scheduled by the end of this year.

Mashrafe from Narail is also involved in social works.

Called the ‘Narail Express’, he launched his ‘Narail Express Foundation’ to work for the development of the southwestern district last year.

The Awami League’s Md Kabirul Haque represents Narail-1 seat in parliament while SK Hafizur Rahman of the Workers Party is the MP from Narail-2.
The issue of the possibilities of Mashrafe and star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan joining politics came to the fore when the minister was speaking about laying of railway tracks from Faridpur’s Madhukhali to Magura town.

Asked if the Test and Twenty20 skipper may contest from the Magura parliamentary seat, Kamal said, “He may also contest in election. He is old enough. I first contested in election when I was 48.”

Shakib, 31, hails from Magura.

Ruling party leaders ATM Abdul Wahab and State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder represent Magura-1 and Magura-2 respectively.

Neither Mashrafe nor Shakib was available immediately for comments.

I think this guy is mentally ill. Even if Mashrafe is planning on contesting the elections, I am sure this is not how he intended on it being announced and neither did he ask this guy to solicit votes for him.

As for Shakib, the elections are scheduled for later this year when Shakib will still only be 31 years old. Unless there is something we don't know he should still be playing cricket so how does the question of him contesting the elections even arise?

How does a minister get off by talking like a crackhead in front of the media? Given the stigma associated with Bangladeshi politics this kind of news creates a negative perception about the players. Surely, there should be some repercussions.

May I just remind everyone that the claims about Mash and Shakib contesting parliamentary elections are being made by Lotus Kamal. Allow me to repeat that: Lotus Kamal. The world's most reliable source of truth. A veritable fountain of wisdom. Surely we cannot question his acute vision, his immaculate foresight. He sees all. He knows all. (He's a know-it-all).

Lotus Kemal skipped a few steps in evolution! What a creature!

I am much glad we have someone like Papon shaheb as our BCB chief, no matter how he deals with some of his mistakes.

You'd think by now that them (Afghanistan) beating WI in the WC QUALIFIERS was some kind of one off thing. But no, it wasn't. That was the proverbial sounding of the horn (Dolorious Edd from the Night's Watch).

That was the tipping point.

They are the Night's King Army, and all of us (lesser teams ie, WI, ZIM, etc) are just peasants in Westeros, waiting to be engulfed.

We need a savior.

Beat Afghan.

Who to call?

Hmmm... I am liking the GOT comparisons, but don't you think Afg is more like the Khalisi with her 2 dragons? The two dragons being Mujeeb and Rashid? (the other one was captured by the Whitewalkers)
