Default Replace Naeem with Zia

Naeem seems has no clue how to bat at #3 - he gave away his wickets in the last two ODIs very cheaply.

Now that we lost the 3rd ODI, we should focus to win the 4th ODI by all means; otherwise, it would be almost impossible to win the series if WI win the 4th ODI IMHO.

I think it would be wiser if we replace Naeem with Zia and let Mushty bat at #3.

Time to act ...

I don't think they'll drop Naeem. He scored a 50 in the 1st match. But I'd love it really if they replace Naeem with Zia. That way Mushy can come in at no.3 followed by Momin at 4 & then Nasir. But that is very highly unlikely. Zia might replace Rubel instead.

that score by Naeem at 1st ODI was almost under no pressure. can't rate an innings like that.

Naeem though scored 50 in 1st ODI , still he is a test material . Look at WI , they did not pick Chandrapaul for the ODI , though he was very successful in test. In last tour Sunny was very effective against WI and he can bat too . So Sunny in place for Naeem and allrounder Zia in place for Rubel. WI has Zia type allrounders like Smith , Pollard , Sami.

I want 2 changes for the next match:

Jahirul -> Naeem

Zia -> Rubel (Rubel does not look comfortable bowling with full strength. It seems he needs more time to get match fitness)

I still don't get why they bring him in at #3. Absolutely worthless batsman.

I want the batting lineup to look like this:

Tamim
Anamul
Mushfiq
Mominul
Riyadh
Jahurul
Nasir
Zia
Gazi
Mashrafe
Razzaq

Gazi and Mashrafe would be interchangeably depending on the situation. If it turns out like yesterdays match, you send out Gazi. If it's like the 2nd ODI, you send Mashrafe.

When Shakib comes back, take out Zahurul, put him at #3, and push everyone else down.

i don't think mushy is the answer for #3, he hasn't made enough runs down the order to warrant a higher place, though he is one of the better form batsman for this ODI series.

Jahirul is a better replacement for Nayem. Zia is lower order hitter. He can come down the order and hit few boundaries. Let's not confuse T20 with ODI. Zia was picked for T20 because we needed a big hitter down the order, let's keep it that way.

If Pollard can play ODI , why not Zia ?

IMO, Riyad or Shakib is best fit for #3.

Howeve for now:

I remember not too long ago, many people criticized that Naeem is underutilized lower down the order now that he is brought up the order and people want him out. He bowls decent in ODI(at least today) and I am willing to give him two remaining matches. His job in the top order is to make partnerships, If he can't even do that then he should be out of the ODI team for a long time. Naeem is indeed more than capable of big hitting, he just needs to hang in there...

Alhamdulillah! those days are over when a player somehow scores a fifty and he is all set for a series, now we require a little bit due to stiff competition

Naeem try to secure his position in t20. Thats why he try to slog from first ball. If its one day and test next, he would play super slow

The player who should be dropped is Tamim Iqbal and I don't care how talented or entertaining he is. He has attitude problems bring back Kayes for ODIs.

Why are we so impatient all the time ?
We have won 2 matches and lost only 1 so far in this series.
Still got 2 more games.
Naeem scored a half century in the first match and guided the team to a good victory.
Yes, he hasn't done well in the last two matches, but please give someone a whole series before giving a verdict on him.

That's correct . I don't think their will be only change and that is Rubel out. But no idea who might take his place.

those who wants Naeem out now say to drop Nasir also cuz flop 3 match in a row

Rabiul bhai...this is where I blame the selectors. Naeem is never comfortable in ODIs. He is a good longer format batsman and that's where he should play. If Naeem fails in rest of the ODI matches in this series, I am sure the selectors will drop him in the next test series. They are always clueless in choosing players for different formats.

It's about winning the series, not to stripped Naeem from the team!

Very well said Sadi. Selectors have no clue how to select a particular team, i.e., T20, ODI etc.

Now is not the good time to keep a dead wood. He didn't deserve the ODI call. And in the first ODI when he came to the crease WI was already in a defensive mindset and just didn't bowl aggressively, also he didn't score the 50 in convincing manner too. Played shots which lacked power, luckily for him went in the gaps. I know Rabz bhai why you are supporting Nayeem, one should be given ample opportunity ideally. But this is not ideal time, THIS IS WAR TIME!!!! I think to ensure the series win we shouldn't keep a batsman like him at no. 3. He will either be too defensive or just throw his wicket due to lack of shot making.

Agreed, replace Zia with Naeem and Elias with Rubel. My team would be:

Tamim
Enamul
Mushfiq
Nasir
Mominul
Mahmudullah
Zia
Mashrafe
Sohag
Elias
Razzak
