I am quite impressed the way he answered all the questions. Very smart and diplomatic at the same time. He said all the right things. Really looking forward to it.

Very intelligent answers! He certainly talks the talk...and so far indications are that he walks the walk as well as far as working hard on his batting is concerned. A captain has to lead from the front...and Shahriar has that ability as well. Early days but good luck to him.

Smart guy!

On one side is this commeng by SN regarding determinants of his place in the team and on the exact opposite end of the spectrum is Ashraful's comments like "Playing against weak teams do not motivate me much"... ... really shows the difference between these two a lot.

good point. If he can make others realize it, with one comment he has done more for the BD team than any BD Vice Captain did in their leadership roles.

totally agree with you. Glitzy Ashraful talks without knowing how he will perform, but we never know what can happen to SN, who knows he will turn to another Ash.
I am loosing faith on Bd superstars.

SS, you never had any faith in any Bangladeshi cricketer (super or non-super), how can you loose something you don't have ?

So far seems good, but he must have to improve more on his batting consistency. Though my only concern is if he lose 'current' batting consistency ... that will be too bad for all of us. Wish him good luck.

A beautiful shot. Ball is sailing over the park.

This post made my day.

this just highlights the importance of a good education, SN is an educated and well spoken man, and it would do the team good, as well as the country to have a fluent english speaking captain who understands questions that are put to him and can respond acordingly.

Ash on the other hand has still got the mentality of a street cricketer who preffers to watch TV rather than study and cheats when it come exam time.

What a point from SN:
"I think if you are born with something special you should strive to get the best out of it."

Is it too early?
Will this brew frustration with Pilot and bring more Polite-trics (Politics...) in the long run?

Whatever his reaction to the news, the decision to appoint him vice-captain was the wrong decision. We don't need to "groom a future captain" at this juncture, with the Champions Trophy and the World Cup coming up. For the next 9 months, Shahriar Nafees should be thinking of one thing and one thing only--how best to score runs for Bangladesh, not about how to be a future captain, and not about how to best respond to journalist's questions about his vice-captain appointment. Regardless of how he has responded to the news, naming him vice-captain will inevitably make him think about things other than scoring runs, ahead of two very important tournaments. Bad decision, imho.
