Thumbs up What do you think BD team now needs to take them up the rankings permanently???

What do you think can BCB do for BD Cricket team so that they can permanently take themselves up the rankings? Is it introducing a refined first class structure/educating cricketers the rich history of Cricket (what happened during or before Don Bradman era) or establishing a completely refined academy that will have extensive training and knowledge ofbatting and it's correct mind-set and also providing a thorough training the minute details/basics of spin and pace bowling by up-to-date coaching staff and equipments.

Let us share our 2 cents....

Firstly, I think we need to establish what is suitable for our players. We shouldn't just blindly transpose foreign ideas/methodologies into our context. Having a two-week crash course on the history of the Ashes or the importance of cricket to Victorian society or cricket's role in the post-colonial struggle will mean nothing to our cricketers. Proper education incl. cricketing education needs to start much earlier.

Having several state-of-the-art cricket academies across the country would be amazing but how likely is that to happen?

In any case, most sides barring Australia-India-England-South Africa have almost none of these. How do they still perform reasonably?

I agree no more 2 week crash course....if this has to be done it's should be done in a proper way be it for 2/3 years....and yes we should have state of the art academies, but for that BCB President has to step down and make sure it's been done......kintu ekhono porjonto hochchena
the fact with those 4 teams is what I feel are much more professional than our BD team. I believe players have to show their professionalism rather than thinking "oh if I make a century/half century I'm not getting kicked out at least for a year/6 months" this has to stop.

Import some Indian, Pakistani and Sri lankan players and give them citizenship. I don't see anything can be done with our BCB morons and a bunch of foolish players (exceptions: Shakib, Tamim) to climb up the ranking.

Just follow English team...you know what i mean.

One or two rare win certainly won't help BD to retain their position, let alone move up the ladder.

I don't think they "reverted to loser mentality" in the last game, nor do you get this loser mentality in game to game bases. You can't expect them to win every day.

This loser mentality has been around for awhile. It disappeared during the NZ series. But it came back big time during the WC, and stuck around. You guys thought that they got rid it just by winning that little paan-shuparri match (main thanks to Rahim otherwise it was a same ol' story) and started to jump up and down. And because I said, it was just a T20, nothing to celebrate about, I got jumped by different pundits.

Like I said, I'll wait till the end of the series to decided whether to celebrate or not.

Take the English route - import players from other countries

South africa and Ireland are their chosen countries.

Might be difficult for us to do the same, so why not go after fringe Indian/SL players...don't want Pakistani players, our players are crap as it is, I don't want them to be crooks too.

EDIT: Bloody hell...Naimul_hd basically wrote out the exact same post...haha

Based on the team's dismal performance, Zimbabwe will surpass them soon, if not, they will be stuck at N09 forever. WI, I believe will progress because they have the mentality to play better and more sensible cricket, also they are better batsmen, bowlers and even their lazy fielding has improved.

...

I like the idea of importing players from other countries for a short period of time. Meanwhile we need to improve our domestic structure to groom our young talented cricketers.

This is what we need to do (but we won't):

I. Empower the NCL with foreign coaches and scouts, corporate capital and sporting pitches.

II. Get Saber Bhai.

III. Get rid of the entire board and their chamchas.

IV. Get rid of Akram Khan and his sectarian quota system.

V. Let the following group of guys develop together:

1. Tamim (top order)

2. Shakib (C, all rounder)

3. Mushfiq (bat only)

4. Riyad (top order)

5. Rubel (fast)

6. Bijauy (WK, top order)

7. Shubhagauto (middle order)

8. Nasir (all rounder)

9. Rumman (all rounder)

10. Shubhashish (fast/PT hitter)

11. Fazle Rabbi (top order bat)

12. Kamrul Islam Rabbi (fast)

13. Munna (slow)

14. Shuhash (medium fast)

15. Alauddin Babu (bat/PT seamer)

Close down Banglaforum and such and concentrate on our own life. No fans = no money. Cricket will either die or fix itself.
