Our batting would be very deep. We could bat down to #9. Also we have 3 pacers and 3 spinners with this team.
Pacers: Mashrafe Mortaza, Shahadat Hossain, and Syed Rasel
Spinners: Abdur Razzak, Shakib Al-Hasan, and Nayeem Islam

agree with ur team..only exception would be robin in for rasel..and heres why:
test matches arent about keeping the run rate down with line and length. its about bowling for long periods of time. and rasel has shown his in-effectiveness with the old ball. besides despite his good showing in the odi's he has come back after a long injury and it'll be a risk to let him bowl for such long periods of time.
As for robin, i can see why he wasnt choosen in the odi's, i remember in one of the academy matches in sri lanaka i think, he bowled about 40 odd extras i think. as it is important to bowl in good line and length, it is not the same case in test matches...perfect example..shahadat hossain. In short, he should be tried in both test matches as i heard he has very good pace and also moving the ball now. he's also been training under that fast bowling coach who has praised him to be the best by far.
apologies for any inaccuracy

geez, can't believe people find it so difficult to predict the lineup:
1. Tamim
2. Junaed
3. Rajin
4. Ash
5. Naeem
6. Saquib
7. Mushfiq
8. Mash
9.Razzak
10. Shahadat
11. Rasel
Its ridiculous how Rasel has made it to the first eleven. First of all, his fitness is yet to be 100%. And the guy is potent with the new ball, agreed, but he peters out after bowling 10 overs. What exactly is his utility?
And it's equally ridiculous how people gauge naeem's merit after watching him perform in a dead match where the Kiwis were yawning themselves to death on a flat as a pancake pitch.

The black caps are going to be taking this series incredibly seriously, It is batting/bowling practise for the Australian series which is next. Jesse ryder could be the test opener who could fill the big gap that Mark Richardson left when he retired

Any team who isn't Australia is going to be batting/bowling practise, they are our biggest rivals,The better Bangladesh play the better it will be for us, If Bangladesh fold easily it means we will be under prepared so I''m hoping the series is competitive

On the stupidity of predictions
For those that are beating the drums of false hopes and your dream visions of test win.....
Save it till Day 3...if we are still in it.
DO NOT predict a fierce trembling win of any sort..
DO NOT invoke unadulterated passion for a WIN.
DO show your unwavering SUPPORT for the team.
DO speak good and evil about our players ONLY.
Ur motivation does not reach the field or the players. I learned it the hard way. No one sees the urgency or logic in the field. U cannot shout it to them. Do not try to persuade the BD players from your laptop. Just hope....that they understand better and do better.
If they could call a timeout and listen to BC members' recommendations..that would be great. But there is no system like that. Except perished hopes and apologies of stupid mistakes after everything is done and nothing can be changed about missed opportunities
So please...hold everything you MUST say till much much later in the test. If its an utter embarrassment like the last 7 years, you can switch off the laptop and come back at it later.
If its a success...I suggest you write your heart out for the next one month.
Best of Wishes, Team Bangladesh. Hope you would not put down every little hope of every little supporter of this burdened nation.

I think aaron redmond is a better test prospect than ryder. Ryder's all hype...

I was also thinking in the same line after seeing the team for the test. Problem is we have to wait for Vettori's declaration!! They can have one excuse though .... too tired after fielding such a long time!

The problem I see with Razzaq isthat he tries to bowl similar to what he does in one day games, In one day games he contains players which leads to wickets, but in tests the run rate doesnt really matter.

lets predict...NZ batting first 510/6, BD 305 & 202, BD lost by an innings defeat with 3 runs ... considering good form, mash will score a good entertaining 50. Raqqaq will get total 1 wk. shahadat could get more that any. I will be happy with my predicted BD batting score...
