This will be one of the most highest pressure of games our players will have played in. Come on lads, play to the best of you're ability, be pumped, the country is behind and we CAN do it.

So what? Yes our record in SL Is very bad but I'm hopeful that it will change this time around insallah...nothing to fear of...

If BD bats first, what is a defendable score by our bowlers? 230+? 250+? 270+?

if bangladesh bats 2nd, what is chasable score by our basmen? 180+? 200+? 220+? or even 240+?

With this choker team, we don't know what will be a score we can stop them on... England restricted them to 170 with their superb bowling, offcourse.. But India couldnt restrict the team from scoring 320 plus when wickets were falling left/right..Frankly, South Africa and Pakistan is the most unpreditable team in the world... on their days, they can score 400 runs and on their bad days, they can fold under 150 runs...

Today is the day, we will be truly tested and if we can beat them today, we can expect to beat Sri Lanka too!!! Today is a day for miracles and superlative batting by Riad/Tamim/Mushfique and wizardly bowling by Razzaque/Shakib/Naeem....Its an epic battle of David vs. Golliath

For me Bangladesh has fulfilled my world cup expectations. I was expecting us to beat both Ireland and Netherlands and a one of the big fish teams which we have. If we win today's match against SA to me it will be a bonus. Whether we bat or bowl first, I just want our boys to show some character out there and play some good, positive and gutsy cricket. As long as our boys can do that, win or loose I will have no regrets.

We should take a lesson from the Irish team. They played their hearts out and did everything they could. They are out of the world cup now but they surely went out in style. I would like BD to show the same character and determination here.

Guys, we do have players who are really talented. Albeit they are inconsistent but imagine if Tamim, Nafees, Shakib, Riad all flared up and Razzaque finally did spin the ball? We can beat any team only if our players believe in themselves (and a bit of luck as Jose Mourinho says). Atleast, we will be well prepared for the Australian team in Mirpur after this baptism!!

Bismillah.

Insha Allah, a win or even a tie might do it for us.

This could be the last BD match Thread of the WC we are hosting.

One thing is for sure there will be either tears of joy or tears of sorrow tomorrow

Just saw in Desh TV, Shakib dehydrating fast, Smith says we know this team better than the 2007 and we have good plans for Shakib and Razzak.

Not really, that is a pretty wrong assessment of the SA team. This is their record since the last WC in 2007

3 series lost in 4 years, they are as consistent as they come, nothing unpredicatable about their team. They are one of the most consistent sides in both forms of the games as shown their results. You will always lose the odd game here and there, and choke on the occasion ( they get that choker tag because of the WC 99). Steyn is already becoming a great of the game, he and Morkel can unleash hell on anybody, let's hope they don't play tommorow, or are have an off day.

Australia is likely to beat Pakistan. If that were to be true, then a South Africa loss would leave them playing New Zealand which they should fancy! Playing New Zealand in the quarterfinals should be enough motivation for South Africa to lose this match if they are smart.

If we bat first, who will score the century first? Imrul or Tamim.
