I don't know why people didn't like JS. To me he is the most successful coach. Look at 2008, 2009, 2010- the number of winning matches, the number of decent player that he has groomed up.. JS was aggressive and he did instill that winning attitude in them. But now look at team, they went back to that negative mindset where we play for a "Shommanjonok Haar" !!!

Law badly needs to find some replacement in the team if he wants to prove his inclusion was a right decision by BCB. He just cant depend on selectors. Law needs to show some guts to ask/demand for new bloods in the nets and trial them. Moreover, he has to move away from Dav's theory of mini all rounders. If he still thinks that SN, Naeem, Reza would perform well in the future then i have serious doubts on his vision.

So all of a sudden Siddons became public's favorite eh? Not too long ago I have seen many people here were on hunger strike for Jamie's removal and now people want him back. hahaha.

Whats gone is gone. Lets move on and instead of wanting Jamie back we should try to find a way to improve our performance. But even if we find a solution I am afraid it'll only be for the record.

The problem Bangladesh has is there is no continuity of coaching staff. Different coaches have different ideas and each time someone comes in they have a different idea how to do things.

Jamie was an outspoken coach who wanted things done in a certain way. This worked for SOME of the team and clearly not for others.

Lamisa (above) has suggested an entire YEAR before any judgement can be made on a coach. In football terms, a coach has far less than that and is judged purely on results.

I think if we are not expecting a coach to actually coach because the basics should have been taught by someone else, then the only way a coach can be judged is how the team shapes up. This means of course, what results they get from the team itself, and what is the quality of the cricket they play.

We know that coaches can make a difference, certainly with inspiration, but a coach is there to teach to be honest and correct faults. It doesn't matter whether the players have the correct skill levels or not, the specialist coaches are there to improve the standards.

Ultimately, the Head Coach of any team, whether it be cricket, football or rugby, will be judged by the results. Jamie was sacked due to us not making the Quarter Finals of the WC. On this basis, the bar has been set pretty high for expectations for any coach taking his place.

Fans here have to decide whether the overall quality of cricket is improving and there are some uplifts in key areas. The results will speak for themselves, but is there a definite change (upwards) to the overall way the team plays? This is how you can judge a coach and this is how you have to work out whether the direction the team is going in, is correct.

Batting line ups, tactics, mentality, skill levels, approach and finally, results.. are all things a coach can influence, change or improve. Some can happen immediately, some take longer, but all can be worked on.

I am not here to judge anyone but simply to say that the responsibility of a coach is to show an uplift as soon as possible. In football, they get 3 months (half a season) to show this or they are gone. Cricket seems slower to react. In the end though, the results are all that matter.

Great post Ian!! If we look at sheer results or even batting line ups, tactics, mentality, skill levels, approach, there hasn't been any improvement under Law. Siddons was outspoken and bold enough to make some changes. Dav Whatmore was the creative kind and introduced mini-allrounders such as Shakib in to the team. But so far I don't see any specialty from Law.

WOW!
people are actually thinking about Jamie Siddons. Past is past guys. Yes, Jamie did improve our team but that was the easy part. He took our cricket from defeats to respectable defeats. Now the hard work begins to take it from respectable defeats to wins. Law has a tough job ahead

Our players is to blame here all the way. this 91 didnt happen because of Law.
