Default Call for Bangladesh cricket related photos, videos, interviews, etc.

Many BC members have been been to Bangladesh cricket events such as watching league matches, ODIs, Tests, attended ceremonies, went to stadiums in Bangladesh, have links with players/officials and may have taken photos of them, may have taken photos of stadiums. You may have taken pictures, videos, or recorded such sessions in different ways, but never thought BC members would like to see your work. You may also have links with our cricketers, BCB officials, and may have the possibility to take their interviews/pictures, but may not know what questions to ask and/or how to approach us for help. And of course, some of you are also visiting WI for watching the WC '07, and may be able to take pictures/videos of the players on and off the field. You may also have worked on graphics (wallpapers, posters, etc.) or made animations (flash, gif).

As you know, we are the best fan site for Bangladesh, and we need our members to support us all the way just like they did in the past. If any of the above is true in your case, we would like to make an open call for submissions of such items to BC. For such submissions, we have created a new email account.

If you previously thought that the files you have are too big, I'm pretty sure the Gmail account will keep you worry-free

So, come on guys. Share the resources with us. We highly appreciate your work, and would love to show the works of our members to the world.

Please note, if you are posting images in this thread, make sure you make the smaller images fit the width of the page. To achieve that, copy and paste the following code, and replace image-url with the URL of the image you are posting.

Code:
<a href="image-url"><img src="image-url" width=640 border="0"><br><br>Click for full size</a>

Afrina apa: Whatever you collect, you can send it to us. Also, if you've visited, or are planning to visit, any of the venues in Dhaka or elsewhere, those would be helpful too.

Mahmudul bhai: I included call for wall papers seeing your interest in it.

Tahsin: Welcome to BC. First things first...you could voluntarily introduce yourself in this thread.

Answers to your questions: We're getting responses at a slow rate, but that will speed up at WC time. And at that time, anybody can volunteer to work on wallpapers and stuff by themselves. If you're looking for such items, you can download them from our multimedia section. If you want to see more videos than the ones in our multimedia section, you could use YouTube and get the videos...there's plenty of them. We improvise on that.

Whatever we get at submissions.banglacricet@gmail.com will be made available at the right time...

So far, there's no video of any matches during the year 2006 either the Zimbabwe, Kenya or Scotland series in the multimedia section of the BC.

Is it because that there isn't any video available? There are other videos of matches in 2005, 2004, but not from the year 2006 and according to newspapers, 2006 is the most successful year for Bangladesh Cricket. Why is that?

FWUllah apa: Legitimate questions. We only have a few videos from the recent Zimbabwe tour of Bangladesh, coutesy of Omio and his cell phone. That also included Scotland's video. Those have only been uploaded on YouTube, and we've been using YouTube for sharing some of the less-in-demand videos.
A couple of months ago, Arnab made an open call for multimedia requests. Admins have selectively updated the multimedia section by putting up videos from only whatever has been requested for.
One way for us to be able to get the most out of current technology is to help update everyone with YouTube videos by uploading it ourselves. That certainly is another reason why we made this call for videos/images/etc., just so that if anybody has anything but is unable to upload them to YouTube or other appropriate servers, we could help them with it.

Hope this answers your question

Miraz bhai: Great banner. Thanks for updating us with it. Similar work on posters would be much appreciated.

Question for others: If you have any IDEAS on posters (like what type of things you wanna see, and how you wanna see them), you could share it with us. You can publicly mention that, so that any member can pick that idea and do some work with it.

There are videos from 2006 Zim tour, Kenya tour.

Recently I have uploaded the 3rd ODI highlights BD vs ZIM 2006 played in Zim. It's in the BC server now but it's Ehsan bhai's job to put them in the multimedia section. Hope he will do it very soon.

A few days ago, Cricinfo didn't even make any special effort for covering Bangladesh's ball-by-ball score EVEN when there was live telecast. But the last tournament with Zimbabwe, even when there wasn't any live telecast, or there wasn't a possibility of one of their staff to be present at the venue, they tried covering the score update through some other means.

So the point is, they're getting better in their approach towards Bangladesh. And soon, I hope they realize that they should design wallpapers and screensavers for Bangladesh. I don't know whether fans have to design them and submit them to cricinfo, coz it is highly unlikely that they themselves will do anything for any of it.
