Brilliant innings by Joy and Shanto. Also good we are starting to prepare green pitches as most likely AFG would've steamrolled BD in spinning pitches.
The way some of the journos asked questions you would think you are seeing Lebron answering them. Only thing is I wished he spoke more "shuddho Bangla" instead of Banglish. But speaking formal Bangla calmly can be seen as arrogance. Also I think due to cultural and global mix, our boomer way of speaking might be dying and at risk. Guess, more kids are growing up like this. C'est la vie.
I don't think it's just Shanto. Almost all of our players are bound by code of conduct and they act like robots! lol
Which is refreshing to see!
Almost all his vocabulary seemed to be parrot words programmed by coaches and think tank: "I worked on my plan", "execution", "focused on ball by ball", "we cannot control the external ie temperature", etc etc.
And then there was the weirdo questions as silent provaceteur. Thank GOD our players live in a bubble. Some cannot handle the pressure. Not drinking booze, smoking, always being positive and by-the-book and that is why they fall out. OH well. C'est la vie.
Shanto looked every part of the good batter he is thought to be in this innings..absolutely outstanding. The Banga sanga..The only and big issue I have is that he tried to throw his wicket away when he was @ 143, got bowled and saved because the ball was a no ball...what would the real sanga do in this case? He would make the opposition pay and go score a double ton..but shanto after 5 balls and 3 runs later tried to throw his wicket away again and this time it was not a no ball and his innings stopped at 146

You're right...but Bazball/Baaghball era has changed things I guess. IDK if Sanga ever hit a ton at 80+ strike rate.
Anyways, if Shanto can be half as good as Sanga...he'll be a legendary player.

yeah the t20 era changed cricket a lot..but our players need to understand the street aspect of the game, if you get out and then its a no ball, it demoralizes the opposition team. you need to pounce on this and bat on so you can demoralize the opposition even more
cricket many times is not only the physical game but a mental game as well
Man, with the amount of trolling Shanto received early in his career, a lot of people would have broken down. This kid took those hate towards him and turned it around. Excellent for him and team BD. If he continues like this, we will finally have a proper replacement for Tamim when he retires.
For the first time ever, Bangladesh is in a authority not to enforce the follow-on. This is honestly punishment for the opponent, who has to play just so the host can receive some batting practice without a easy way out of mercy. Dominant performance so far.
We still should be worried about new ball fiasco. In my opinion, during the time Afghanistan got our wickets, they bowled much better than our bowlers if we consider session victories. I mean... 4 wickets loss for what... 4 runs?
I don't think Taskin has much to offer for Test cricket. Avg of 58 just doesn't cut it.
I don't think it would've hurt to try Musfik Hasan in this match.
Last time when all of our legendary players played Afg destroyed them.

Taskin is returning from injury that is why, he will be back to his usual best
Mominul might have lost his way with the batting but I think he is the best close in fielder. He took a great catch at full stretch and then almost got a player run out with his quick thinking
Shamim and the BD commies got into the Afghantis commies head with their superiority complex and now the poor Afghan guy said what so now they will score 500, 600 or even 1000
