There are peeps who are hardly to admit the improvement and there are some of us to expect our team to score 184 without loss of wickets. I'm glad that our openers did well enough in a rain-high-chance night. I'm not much dissapointed with habitual regular panic moments in a pressure match like this in later part, which is satteled perfectly by Nasir in the end. About that low moments, My heart is still strong to cheer for this historic achievment, and simply loved those heart pounding low moments. SL can keep looking excuses for their loss I'm seeing a whitewash-proof year on the way here for BD.

I am a bit ignorant on the rules of cricket, but can someone pls educate me here. When an ODI series is drawn, I know that the teams share the award money, but what about the CUP, how is that shared? I am elated that BD beat SL on their own turf, gone are the days when they used to bulldoze BD. Not so anymore , gives BD respect from the cricketing world. i also love the SL team, but my heart is with BD.

I think what was most satisfying about the win was that we played with our second string team, to beat their first XI. No Tamim, no Shakib, no Mashrafe, no Nazmul (who I got the feeling the management was finally going to pick for the ODIs this time). Also no Naeem and no SN in the Test series, yet we drew the first Test.

No worries. These 4 oldies (Dilu, Sanga, Jaya, Raga) will be gone soon. And I can promise you, by next SL tour, we will do what they've been doing to us for past decade. They will get all kinds of washes. They already got a taste of it in this tour.

That's the most comforting thing. Despite not having some of our best players, we still played really well. In order to become one of the best teams in the world, we need to rely on many individuals and not just 1 or 2. Because teams such as Australia, England, South Africa, and India all have great depth which is why they've stayed consistently up at the top.

The reason I opened the thread was because more of a holistic celebration since we had Kiwiwash, Asia Cup near success, beating West Indies, scoring a 190 and 200 in Test against SL and finally the win.
And to top it all, the win was savory since of the reasons already mentioned by The Asif bhai and Tiger444.

And now this:
Quote:
When you are playing your first or second match, it's better if you play teams like Bangladesh and Zimbabwe and then get the confidence to play big matches against Australia and England.

Joyshurjer buira boyoshe bhimroti hoise...look at the age their best players are approaching, as alluded to by Dillu-- Sanga 36, Dilshan 37, Jaya 36, Herath 36.
Can they really afford not to blood new players now! Are you kidding me! What's his ace up his sleeve! Him coming out of retirement! I think they've missed a few tricks and have already fallen behind. The process should've started few years back. Once you're stuck in mediocrity it's very tough to get out of the rut. This is the new normal. So just suck it up and move on.
