Question Is This The End Of Tendulkar's Test Career?

No in his last 25 test matches. Highest score of 27 in his last 7 test innings. Bowled 3 consecutive times for the first time in 10 years. Is this the end?

Manjrekar thinks not and he has some compelling points. I think not because it is tough to write him off. The combination of talent, desire and hard work built his career and as long as the desire and hard work is there, he can come back strong.

Quote:
Tendulkar not finished yet
He may have a problem with the full-length delivery but he's still valuable to India's Test side.
Sanjay Manjrekar

A few weeks ago on this website I strongly recommended that Sachin Tendulkar should be in the Indian touring party to South Africa in November 2013, and my mind remains unchanged. To me, the way Tendulkar got out in his three innings against New Zealand does not suggest by any stretch of the imagination that he is finished as an international batsman.

I will stand by what I have said all along about Tendulkar: that his run-making at the international level will stop only when he stops playing. Until then, he may not dominate as he used to but he will still be a good enough batsman to get runs at the highest level, and to add value to the Indian team, especially in Test cricket.

I think he's too good a player to remain out of form for such a long time; don't know the exact reasons but I think it's more of a mind battle he's struggling with. Last time in '05/06 when he was struggling, he cut out many of his fluent shots and tried to come back in form which worked for him but I'm not sure if it's going to work again, imo he should play as freely as possible and more so without burden or any extra pressure.

lucky for him that it's NZ and they won easily, if they had lost the series Tendu would hv been under a lot more pressure.
Against SA it will be even more difficult, Steyn,Philander, MokKel.
But if his failure continues then after SA series I predict he will retire from Test.

You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Come on SRT!! Ganguly, Dravid, Laxman all embraced their mortality. Its time to embrace yours and call it a day.

SRT should decide when to stop. He is one of the greatest players of his generation, if not the greatest.

I think he still has the hunger to play cricket.

He'll probably still be good for another couple of years, but seriously, what's he still playing for?

If this was someone else, I'd say he's finished. But Sachin is Tendulkar.

I dont want him to retire from Tests now after getting bowled three in a row.
Such a brilliant carreer wouldnt look good if it ends like that.
Better would be if some how he plays a good inn. Vs SAfrica and then retires.
