We have to wait another 10 years to say that. We don't have that many games in next 10 years.
But I believe we will become number one in 8-10 years time, inshallah

I think tournaments esp. the WC are weighted much higher. so 2011 & 2015 WC champs?

I don't get why people are so obsessed over IPL. We don't need indian peoples vindication to feel good, do we?
If I were a franchise owner, I'd make sure to make profit anyway I can. I'd probably buy the wart riddled Shoaib before the much better and performing Kula. Doesn't matter if I win or lose, I'll get my money back tenfold.
On the other hand, If I were the opposition captain, I'd mark the performer before the showman. That's what I meant.

Am I the only one who doesn't like IPL? I mean I like 20/20 but I don't like IPL. With celebrities and cheerleaders and a dozen stupid things (trying to be like MLB) they have ruined the fun experience of enjoying a cricket game.
The emphasis is on who makes how much and how much money the franchise owners are loosing and all the drama associated with it. What a nuisance.
I hope none of our BD players get sucked into this stupidity and trash they call cricket.

i think champion rajhsthan draw lots of crowd without so called star performer.
i dont think people like to go to see flop KP, or jesse ryder just for their face value in IPL
if that happen, unknown Yousuf pathan or sean marsh or sohail tanvir wouldnt be popular in first IPL,i think performance is the main thing that draw crowd

the question had nothing to do with IPL. As much as I like T20, I have really not gotten into IPL. I loved the edition of ICL that featured the Warriors because I had a team to really root for.
My point is that Shakib deserves all the accolades he is getting from BD fans. However, he has not done anything of significance yet to make oppositions of the stronger teams to fear. I'm not saying he's not capable, just that it hasn't happened yet.
Shakib has proved himself to be very economical in ODI and T20 but has yet to do a 3+ wicket haul. I'm hoping regular 4 or 5 fors are just around the corner. He is certainly headed that way.

Crowds are not the main source of profit. How do you think KKR became the most profitable team?

IPL is only 2 seasons old. If KKR has another disaster season, the crowd will disappear and so will the profits. The excitement of the owners and star players are still new.
I hope BCB would arrange a four way T20 tournament with a BD team (not labeled as the national side), KKR, Ireland and T&T. Something like that would get KKR warm up to their IPL start and we could benefit from the media attention and practice leading up to the WC in May as well. Plus get to avenge Ireland.

It is said that the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, when asked of his opinion of Welsh Nationalism, replied with three words, two of which were "Welsh Nationalism".
Similarly, when asked of the IPL, I will reply with five words, four of which are "the Indian Premier League".
Now, can we please get this back to discussing players who have played, do play, or might play for the Mighty Bangladesh Tigers ?

460 will be crossed. Now bowling 750 would be difficult.
