BCB has to take some serious things reqarding the selection panel..

Indeeed raqibul hasnt perform in both format of the game against India

they hav send him 2 the newzeland..

with out star players in newzealnd itz a better chance to once again create history over der lyk wat Bangladesh has did in West indies..

good for him.

lets wait for few more matches, then we can think about him for test matches, only if he can continue his form.

We got young players like Jahurul Islam, Farhad Hossain, Asif Ahmed scoring centuries (two centuries each to be exact) in NCL and people here getting excited over Bashar scoring fifties!!!

IMO, at this point Faisal Hossain looks like a better candidate for the Test team than Bashar uncle does.

he needs some BIG Hundreds and also has to beat names like farhad hossain, jahurul, faisal etc.
he is already 89 runs behind the table-topper farhad (382)

HB is a proven performer. Others are not. You can not compare with proven one with green horn. Vaughn, Treschotic were ordinary in county cricket; but once they scored some runs in county cricket - they were called back and scored run for the national team. The problem with green horn is that we might unearth a Riad but also may find out that he is a Dickens. Let the green horn mature

Only people who are scoring runs in large numbers, and consistently should come into consideration. There are many blokes who are performing better than Bashar atm. Let Bashar be amongst the top 3, and we should look into bringing him back.

Bashar needs to score big hundreds. Scoring some 50s consistently in DPL means nothing.

looking at Ash and Roqibul's current form, Bashar could easily be considered for Test Team ! Its worth a gamble against England ! If he fails, it doesnt matter coz what good Ash and Roqibul are doing for the team anyway !

My thoughts exactly. Bashar also hooking a lot less. Hooks and pulls were his downfall. I had a thread after the England series ("An impulsive hooker") in which I mentioned that every time he got a good start, he tried to hook and got out. He and Masood were only batsmen to score a few double digit runs. Mushfique had two brilliant FC knocks and then failed miserably in the test where he was inserted prematurely. From what I am hearing of Basher lately I have to conclude taht he has actually matured during his second chance. Why not try him atleast in the warmups and see what he can do.

Below is the Bashar international stats: His test average is the highest among all Bangladeshi. Better then Sakib, Tamim and Ash. Bangladesh team can use his experience. Our young players can learn a lot from him. When Bashar was captain Shakib's test avarage was above 40. It is going downhill since then. Our young players has learned a lot from Bashar and Rafiq. They still can learn from him. He has 5000+ runs in test with avg 30+. Our young come with century like EID day then fade away. Remember Mehrab, Nazmul!! They came with so much potential what happened to them. Potential young player is good but they are no match for 30+ avg and 5000+ international test run.

Anyone with a 30+ average in tests and currently in form should get a recall. The difference between a veteran in form with a newbie with runs, is that a Bashar or Pilot when in form can take on any opponent, while newbie has a huge possibility to crumble under pressure. A debut should only happen when the rest of the players are sufficient to handle the debacle that may loom due to an unexpected poor performance from a debutant.

I hope so.. Tamim's avg was 23 before 150 knock. Shakib maintained above 40 avg for a year. Shahreer had avg above 35 for more then a year. What happened to their avarage?

BD selectors are too persistent. they cant keep sticking with Rokibul just because he score 80 like two years ago. If necessary, ROkib needs to be dropped and Bashar needs to be brought back
