Nasir has a better list A record, a similar record to riyad if not better (at least in some respects) in ODIs, he's quite a bit younger, less experienced, better bowler, better fielder etc
Nasir has more pluses than riyad.

Lmao at least Mash has confidence in getting 10 quiet overs out of Nasir, won't even see him bowl Riyad more than two.

Nasir is bits n pieces yes, but compared to the poser who relies on his brother in law and captain to keep his spot, he's a godsend.
As per finishing ability, a player who has choked in crucial KOs, his fans shouldn't really be criticizing other players finishing skills. It's a person throwing stones in a glass house sort of scenario.
Just like Saffer fans, boast how their players dominate normal LOIs or group stage matches but when a KO match occurs they start booking their flights back home.

Nasir's competition is Riyad, not Miraz. Miraz is very much a front line bowling option. His contribution with bat and field come second

Both of them look similar. Nasir has experience on his side. Mehedi is nothing special. He is just like any other player from Bangladesh who has a great first few years then fades. I remember Nasir scoring an ODI 100 in his first year of International Cricket. Ideally, I would like to have both in the XI somehow, but that would mean Riyad needs to make way.

Look at List A ....Nasir far outshines Miraz in both batting and bowling and I believe his stats are even better than Mahmudullah.

Thank you! Just got to do a little research and you realise nasir matches if not betters riyad in every department despite being less experienced and younger. As far as finishing goes nasir has batted 39 innings (from 49 matches) batting from 6-8 with an average of 33.31, strike rate of 81.56 with a century and 5 half centuries. He scored 1066 runs. 7 not outs.
riyad has batted 88 innings (from 102 matches) batting 6-8, average of 29.85, strike rate of 73.42, 0 centuries, 8 half centuries. He scored 1851 runs. 26 not outs.
As a finisher it's pretty clear nasir has performed better than riyad...do not be fooled by Riyad's not outs, sure he stayed not out but did they help the team win? Hasn't helped his average much....nasir has a better strike rate and scores more runs per match batting between 6-8 even though he's younger and more inexperienced...
Riyad has a better record than nasir batting 1-5 but he's also batted there in 30 innings compared to nasir's 8.
For me I'd do a straight swap, riyad for nasir, batting lower down the order, but if nasir was put up the order I wouldn't mind either because seeing what he's so far done internationally at a young age, now on the verge of coming back and scoring lots of runs (batting at 4) and finishing matches domestically I'm confident he can handle batting anywhere from 3 and lower. It's speculation but every spelextion is speculation until it happens. The main issue is that riyad has had enough chances and someone else needs to be given some opportunities.

If Nasir is not allowed to play, he should just voluntarily retire in protest

perhaps Nasir's ability with the ball and fielding prowess would be much more useful to the team overall than what Riyad already provides.

Lets hope not. Because the entire country is depending on him as the next long term prospect.
Obviously your assessment is not incorrect, we ve seen so many cases of early promise, which then fades away.

Except as far as batting goes mehedi started poorly and has improved it, here's hoping that's the way things go with him, improvement on the start rather than the kind of norm which is great start then a decline.

Obviously, Nasir is a much better cricketer than Riad in every possible way...be it batting, bowling, fielding, team play or courage. But, it is his off field pongtami or activities and attitude has seriously affected his performance on the field. Therefore, he was rightly dropped from the side and shunned by the board.
Miraz has tremendous potential and it seems like this lad has the right attitude, skills and dedication to become a very special player. But, for now Nasir should be ahead of him because of his greater international experience and current form.

Maybe maturity the difference. Although Riyad shows his fair share of immaturity from time to time.
But Riyad much more focused on his game. Whereas perhaps Nasir has other interests.

As far as off field stuff, nasir has started to be more consistent on field so I'm hoping there is a correlation in which that is in part due to improved off field attitude.

I think this is the only probable reason I think why he may been dropped otherwise stats are clearly in his favour

Drop Riyad.... bring back Nasir. Then drop Nasir and bring back Riyad....the cycle continues with no net gain... jai lau sheye kodu.
Need to get our of this recycling process.... think out of the box... time to move on and try someone else.
