I'm happy for him , he is showing good consistency, was unlucky today when he was given out
But he needs to stop flirting with the off side deliveries, many times he tried to emulate Khocha NAfeez & Kaedge today but failed.

People now seeing what i have been seeing this whole time. Not long ago people wanted Mominul to go back to the academy to workon his so called 'iffy techinique?!?". I reasoned that it was mentality. In the WI series it was his debut series. Any normal debut batsmen would be nervous because they wouldn't want to screw up. Thats why Mominul wasn't playing his best. Now he is showing why i regard him (and his technique) so highly. He has the qualities of a natural strokemaker and i can tell you if cricketing experts (Steve Waugh, Mike Atherton, Mark Waugh and co) watched Mominul bat they would be really impressed by what he brings to the table.

Mominul's a real talent.

also in WI he was playing limited overs cricket, test cricket is a different game and he's showing he's pretty good at it.

Hope he doesn't get dropped once Shakib returns!

Mominul's technique is a hell of a lot better than Anamul's. Almost everyone in the side is a bit iffy against the short ball, but otherwise he's fine. Not sure if his game suits the shorter versions though, but time will tell.

I think shorter versions but that does not mean he cannot excel in tests as well. Nothing wrong with his technique just the "khocha" attempts he makes at deliveries just outside off. The best thing about him is that he likes to drive with a straight bat, utilizes more long off, square region than point.

No he won't. I think if Riyad keeps batting like the way he has been, he might be the one to make way for Shakib.

i'm not sure either of riyad or mominul will be dropped when shakib returns. riyad bats best at #8, with shakib gone even if he was to bat behind nasir he'd be batting at #7, he batted at #8 in the WI series and did well so i expect shakib to come in and a bowler to be dropped rather than a batsman. mominul will retain his place unless they want naeem back when he's fit again.

Too much analysis going on here. Mominul is new and he is showing some promise and some good result....so far so good.... we should be all happy for him and wait and see how far he progress. Sky is the limit for him for now.

There is basically zero chance Mominul will be dropped once Sakib comes back. ist not only Sakib.... Nayeem and Anamul will also create some pressure and guess who will get the heat.... it will be Asharul and Riyad who will get the heat in our TEST team.

Yep agree with fazal, and long term I can't see ash or Jahurul sustaining success, so I think it's a matter of time before they are replaced by anamul and shakib.. Mullah is also under pressure tbh.

And again, all our hopes lay on the most inexperienced member of the side. Hope he bails us out, a 60/70 won't do this time.

a lot depends on Saurav, he & NAsir have been the most consistent batsman, this time he needs to bat for a long time and convert his good start to something 80+ .
He got the temperament, the technique & the looks.
He just needs to avoid attempting a Kaedge.

Poor guy, new to the team and already so much rest on his shoulders to save our *** because of our 'senior' batsmen. Needless stress..

I liked his style from the very beginning. Looks to have a lot of time to play a delivery. Elegant style.

Hope he will go a long way!

He looks good. Needs to get a big one tomorrow. He's dislodged Naeem from the number 4 spot.

Just giving props to Mominul . So inexperienced and yet doing better than other more experienced guys. I wonder if the others in the locker room have asked him for tips on how to bat in these Sri Lankan pitches.

he sure stopped me from complaining about his inclusion ahead of Marshal. He should be a little watchful today in the beginning because later he will have opportunities to score

Let's all take a moment and talk about this one serious issue. What's up with his helmet patch? Why is it so small? It bothers me! I didn't watch the first game but I noticed it during first inning of this test. WTH? Even during those mama-chacha days of BD cricket BCB were more organized with this sort of stuff. Nasir too has a weird logo. Jahurul and Anam doesn't even have a logo. Last time I checked, Shakib had a ripped one.

BCCI logos on the helmet are getting bigger and brighter. Tells a story.

Why would we have to get rid of Naeem from the team? He had a really good series against WI, scored a hundred in his come back test, and also made decent starts in the other innings. No need to get rid of Naeem from the team. More competition for each spot will make sure players don't take their position for granted.
