Why bad news? He is a pocha dim anyway. It wouldn't have mattered if he was playing as he would have come uo with same crap performance, isn't it?

He was the best player of our last ODI tournament. So his absence suffers the team so much.

Here you go so even you were waiting for his ton. The difference between him being a pocha dim and golden egg is only 3 runs. 3 runs !!!!!!!! He could have been out the very next ball after hitting his century just the way he did against NZ. But fans would forgive him because he got that ton and now that he did all the hard work till 97 and got out with a stupid shot his heroics faded. By no means I'm justifying that moronic shot he got out to, but giving you the perspective here. If we fans were thinking only about his ton at that moment it's only natural that he thought that too for that split second.

Anyways after reading cricinfo report now I can slightly understand why he tried that shot. He was in utter pain and probably he was thinking that he might not be able to bat the next day so why not try the luck. Here:

"We have decided that he [Shakib Al Hasan] will take no further part in the second Test match and will miss the two ODIs in Khulna," Bangladesh's physio Vibhav Singh said."
http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...ry/592914.html

So he was most probably going to miss the next day or might not be fit enough to last long so he took a chance. We can always criticize his temperament issue here but accusing him of being selfish or not commited towards his country is so not right. We should cut him some slack. He deserves that much respect from us I believe.

Fans attack bank for ticket

Cricket fans in Jessore on Monday morning ransacked the glasses of a Social Islami Bank branch after failing to get the tickets of the one-day games between Bangladesh and West Indies.

Although the tickets of the first two ODIs to be held at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna is scheduled to go on sale from October 28, about two hundred people flocked at the Jessore branch of SIBL from early morning reportedly fuelled by a rumour of ticket sales.

I'll laugh if Mohammad Ashraful was selected for that vacancy left by Shakib I mean not only he's a batsman but can bowl some handy off-spin.

I see what you mean but he does have the most 100s in the Bangladesh team so he is 'sort' of a batsman.

Take it easy mate! One step at a time...first, let's win the series...

Zia is a batsman...HE DOES NOT BOWL EVEN IN NCL THAT MUCH due to injury(he himself said he kind of gave up with bowling in a interview with PA)...so if he have to play, then as a batsman only, who may get chance to bowl 2/3 overs if needed. i don't see him get in there as a batsman as yet. but good back up

Ditto. Rubel should be the logical choice to get into the XI.
