Bowling is a much more interesting art than batting
Agreed, an idiot can master batting, but it takes a genius to truly master bowling.

Some people can't even understand batting (Kayes)
& bowling (taskin)

As a cricketer, the term has been used loosely: a student of the game.

Shakib fits this mould.

= Both are prominent in social media
= Both are garbage at their art(vlogging and fast bowling)
= Both are from rich families
= Both are born in Dhaka

Exactly! search up his name and you will see why he is similar to Taskin Ahmed.

Hardest part dealing with spin can be handling the flight, at 80 mph that is lost

A couple of runs more for 4000 in T20

Must be the only one with a double of 4000K and 200 Wickets?

as this is only T20 we are talking about and not T20I, many players should have that all round double. bravo has more than 5000 runs and 400 wks

did some research on that allround double. here are the playlers with 4000 runs and 200 wks in T20

Shakib
Bravo
A.Morkel
Pollard
Azhar Mahmood
Watson

soon to join this list will be afridi and russel who needs less than 200 and 400 runs

while doing the research I found that Shakib is the 5th highest wicket taker in T20!

Murli is spot on with that... was an absolute steal for SRH. All because of KKR's last years utilization. Expect Shakib to jump up next year if he performs well this season.

thanks for sharing. things that stand out to me:

1) Murali is very eloquent when he speaks English. The Lankan players of old were just a class apart in how articulated they were off the field. (Sanga, Mahela, Murali)

2) Shakib's english has really improved. He seems much more relaxed and laid back. Very little "obviously"s.

3)I'm glad Murali acknowledged how cheap Shakib was for them.

4) Why did the host call out the AFG President at the end? "Please watch, don't interfere" lol what's the story there?

Why are you surprised, SL have a literacy rate of 96%, the most educated out of the South East Asian lot.

As a captain Shakib strictly adheres to the book.

1. He doesn't use left arm orthodox bowlers when there are two left handed batsmen in the crease.
2. He is reluctant to use part time bowlers even if they bowl well. (could be because he believes overusing part time bowlers can back fire)
3. He believes that death overs should be bowled only by fast bowlers. (what if the fast bowlers are doing worse than the spinners?)

As a captain one should act as the situation demands. One cannot be successful by always following the conventions.

He comes from siddons school of teaching, hence this won't change between the 3

1 - he's right to a certain extent against certain players, however not against all and certainly not against Afghanistan

2 - again I agree with him in theory, over use of part timers can be a disaster, but Ullah and Mossadek are better bowlers than the others, not just in this game, overall they're better, both could be genuine all rounders and both should have been given full qouta or at the very least 6 overs

3 - also true in theory, but apart from Rubel we don't have a fast bowler, we don't have a good medium fast bowler
