Bashar aims to win ODI series against India
Here we go!!
Bashar has started the mind game which in all previous cases were done by opposition captains. Target is set and now it's time to deliver.
Quote:
"There is always pressure in a home series and now the expectation is high after our victory against India. India will definitely be desperate to erase the bitter memory but I am confident of beating them again. I think it is difficult but not impossible to win the one-day series against India," said Bashar
|
Bashar, however, was a bit worried with the two-match Test series as they are going to resume the five-day game after a long thirteen-month break.
Quote:
"Yes, it would be a tough task for us to return to Test cricket because we haven't played many four-day games in the meantime. But I believe if we can play good cricket in the one-day series then it would be helpful," he explained.
|
It's really good to see the positive attitude. We must take each and every game with the same mentality. "Shommanjonok Porajoy" days should be over.

In the last few occasions he kept his words. I am hopeful the team will again back the captain's word.

Bashar sure have mastered the art of speaking to media. Since Rabeed Imam is getting fired (atleast that's what a Bangladeshi tabloid said), Bashar should use this opportunity to retire from cricket and be BCB's next media manager.

Your attitude is disgusting. Can you please change your nick to something else?
You are always making irritating comments about Bangladesh team. Please show some respect.
Are you a Bangladeshi?

When something works once, dont change it untill it stops working.
Bashar tried intimidating India before the April 17th match, and it worked so well. I dont see any reason why he should not continue to intimidate them now.
Keep it up Bashar!

This will be a very intensely fought ODI series but BD have a strong chance of winning especially with home support on the back of a very successful world cup with BD fans in jubilant and vocal mood.

We would have a great chance to win the series if Bashar had been dropped. The Indian batting lineup is fragile without Ganguly.

Bashar's confidence just goes to show how far our cricket has come in the recent past. Now if only he can translate this confidence to an aggressive mindset in the field.
Also being back on home conditions, I am hoping our batsmen at last start delivering. 9 games, 1 score over 200. The batsmen let us down badly in the world cup. Several heads might be in the guillotine( read Aftab, Nafees, Bashar) if the indifferent form continues.

winning ODI series is not possible but one win is.
Test we definitely need JO,Rajin, and Mehrab Jr. to atleast bat for two days, none of our superstar 'stroke' makers have temperment to bat for a day.

And also I would love to see Sakib playing the test. It seems like he has the temparment unlike Vatiga tamim, and Aftab.

mushfiq should also definitely be in the test team. if we don't take advantage of his batting in tests, we are not fully utilizing him.

I will settle for a series win or him following up on his promises over his irksome performance any day.
