Jesse Ryder in Coma
Ryder in critical condition after assault
Jesse Ryder, the New Zealand batsman, is in a critical condition in hospital after being assaulted late on Wednesday evening in Christchurch.
Ryder, 28, is in intensive care after suffering a fractured skull in the attack - where he was reportedly beaten up by a group of four men as he enjoyed a drink with friends at a bar in Merivale. Reports in the local media suggested that Ryder had also sustained a punctured lung and internal bleeding and that his injuries had left him in a coma.

What kind of low-lives beat someone up like that? Hope he recovers and hope these losers get locked up for a long time.

Shocked and deeply sorry to know this. Praying for his speedy recovery. The bastards responsible for this should be charged with attempted murder and put away for life.

Hard to believe given Ryder's past history and the circumstances of what happened. I highly doubt Ryder would have been attacked like this by two parishoners outside a Wellington church on a Sunday afternoon. Ryder may not have been drinking or been at the bar, but those two guys must have.
Why would two guys physically assault Ryder without provocation and in the absence of this being a robbery or some other personal gain?

The incident took place after midnight. Nothing good happens during that time. He needs good people surrounding him.

It happened outside a Bar and after he came out of the Bar...don't think he was drinking juice in a bar..well, it may not be an alcohol related issue/fight, even if he was drunk.
