Default General Questions On Cricket Thread

It has been quite a while I have not opened a thread in any of the sub-forums, but as I am currently watching the 2nd test between WIndies and Kiwis I am also a bit worried about the fate of Shillingford and slightly agitated of Sammy's negligence and lack of confidence on Chanderpaul's ability to bowl.

Anyway the question that came to my mind is,

Can you be a Chinaman without being a Chucker?

I think Paul Adams (SA) and Michael Bevan (AUS) were good non-chucking chinaman bowlers. That being said, Paul Adams had the weirdest action in recent cricket history. Still better than Sohail Tanvir, he has the ugliest bowling action of all time.

in tests katich was selected as the 2nd spinner so for a time he was considered more than a part timer.

It seems to be a left-arm unorthodox while extracting speed and using wrist will slowly force the bowler to bend further and further and make him vulnerable to chucking while trying to generate extra pace.

Nobody bowls like Paul Adams though. Okay here is my next question.

In this test between Windies and Kiwis, Wagner was called on for a No Ball as he stepped with back foot outside the sideline during his delivery. I cannot remember any occasion of happening a similar no ball call in recent T20I or ODI or even Test.

Do you? I have seen the opposite though, even during recent Banglawash. Bowler breaking the stumps with the delivering arm ( Ish Sodhi )

I reckon I have seen a no ball out of the side line but I can't for the life of me say when or where I reckon I saw it.

As for breaking stumps on delivery, Finn is famous for it, Kane Richardson also has done it.

Thanks Gowza.

Speaking of no ball, does anybody have the stats for ratio of converting free hit to a boundary? Which batsman has the record of hitting most runs while facing a free hit conveyed from a no ball?
