Fair enough if you dont like a certain type of music, thats your choice.
but dont go calling them names.
Learn to respect other's choice as well.
that way others will respect u as well.
I, for one, dont listen to country music, but you'd never hear me saying they are rubbish.
One man's junk is anothers treasure.
Ok, if you find music like: AAAAAAAAAAAAA TUMI AAAAAAAAAAAAAA and another 10 million AAAAAAAAA's and TUI's and amaaaar then they are good. But I am more serene. My opinion.

I know all of them, except Tahsan. Actually, I left BD before Tahsan joined. And since then, I'm not in touch with them.
Personally, I feel that Tahsan joined Black to get an easy ride. I'm not sure if anyone will agree on this. But I've seen Black from its birth, and the types of music Tahsan sang, it wasn't typical Black material. It was CRAP I would say. Black's lead vocal is John bhai, and he's really the person who should sing for Black. His voice is exceptionally good when it comes to the songs like Road and Blues (I was the lucky one to listen to this one when it was written).
The guys in Black are extremely talented. Specially Jahan bhai. Something tells me that it was due to Tahsan that they couldn't produce music of THEIR type. And if you ask me, I'm glad Tahsan left (didn't even know about it before you mentioned). I personally feel that Black can do MUCH better without Tahsan.

Satriani is one of those underappreciated guy. I wish he came to Canada sometime, and I knew about it. Since I'm out of it completely, I wouldn't even know. But I have a dream of attending one of his concerts, be it just himself or G3.

totally agreed, Kabir bhaiya!! Have you listened to "35"? their first song after Tahsan left, and I'm telling you that song ROCKS! And John bhai said their 3rd album ("Abar" could be the name) will be very edgy. Cant wait!
ok, back to the topic: Songs (good songs that is) make me very emotional. But some songs are very very special to me, and do make me cry sometimes.

Mate, you still havent got it, have ya?
you are still trying to see things from your narrow point of view??
You still are going on about ur rubbish of "if you like aaaaaa ooooo"...
You try to pull my leg while making your fake compliment.
And one more thing....
Get over yourself.
What makes you style of music more serene than anyone else here?
may be someone of us have an ear for drums and guiters, you dont.
may be your mind is not that complex enough to co-ordinate all those sounds into one and make a song out of it.
Then its your problem, not mine.
I think Trance, House music is serene. You got a problem with that?
When i listent to DJ Tiesto 4 in the morning in the club in being a different state of mind, it gives me peace, tranquility and brings me joy. What you gonna call it, rubbish?
I didnt ask for your approval for my kind of music, all i said is open your eyes.
Look around you beside your usual 10 metre by 10 metre.
You will see there is a world out there.

Hey bro, do you have that Cacophony album with the song "Black Cat" in it? If so, could you please send it to me ????? Jason Becker and Marty Friedman just blew it off.....man SOME DAMN HARMONIZING HELL THAT SONG WAS FULL OF !!!!!
Achcha, sticking to the topic's title, I was back in Class 6 then and went to Gajipur with my scouting troop. Aha I was the ASPL (for those who know the term).....we had amongst us a friend whose mother passed away when he was 8 or 9 and during the culture practice thingy for the camp fire night, this one troop played the Song "Maa" DAMN all of us in our troop went totally silent and looked at each other and then to that friend of ours whose mom passed away earlier. That song had so much into it. Onek kharap lagsilo oi ratrey, and hence, the song "Maa."
I also love the song "Dhonno Dhanney" and I LOVE SINGING IT TOO.....I get goosebumps.
Our national anthem gives me the goosebumps sometimes as well.....especially the following lines:
"Oma Phaguney tor aamer boner ghraney pagol korey, mori haey, haey re o'maa....."
Shoots the chills up my spines man !
And to someone like SideWinder, I was trained classically from the age of 6-14. I took the guitar up at 14 and have performed in over 32-33 concerts in Dhaka/California/Missouri/New Jersey/New York.....I am a BIG time metal head but you would be stunned at my range of playing and appreciation of music because ajkay tumi jodi dekho ami Lalon bajaitesi or Nazrul gaitesi appreciate korba and the next day I go on stage and do "Livin' on a Prayer" or Iron Maiden's "Can I Play with Madness" tum ki gail parba ?????
If any genre of music has the most use of proper musical grammar combined with the toughest techniques ever possible, put together in the most sensible and smoothest way, that still is living and never will die, that my brother is Heavy Metal and METAL in itself.
Listen to Ravi Shankar then go and Listen to Nicolo Paganini's 5th Caprice, then go and listen to Yngwie Johann Malmsteen's 64th note arpeggios or some Uli John Roth. If you have the music ears you'd learn to appreciate REAL music for what it is.
It's good to have likes and dislikes but it is not wise to hate a brand of music or label it unworthy just because you neither understand it nor like it.
PEACE 'V"!
As Manowar's song goes:
We're fighting with POWER and STEEL,
Fighting for METAL, METAL that's real,
Brothers of METAL, we'll ALWAYS be THERE,
Standing TOGETHER with HANDS in the AIR!!!!!
To all my fellow brothers of Metal here.....Rock On \m/!!!!!

Good to know that we've got an expert among us here.
I was always good with the voice, and until my whole life changed once I moved here, gaaner adda used to be a regular feature in my daily schedule. After coming to Canada and starting my university life (and staying off-campus, so couldn't connect well or make good friends) everything fell apart, and lost my touch.
Sometimes I feel, if I had a few friends in Toronto who are good with instruments (tobla and guitar to be specific), my blood will run a thousand times faster.
