However, I would actually never go to a match painting on myself some other country's flag, coz to me that's something only my own flag deserves. But neither would I judge (but I wouldn't appreciate either) the ones who do that, coz I wouldn't know what points of view he's carrying in this matter, and whether that's reasonable or not. BUT again if the same person doesn't come to his own country's match with his own flag painted on his body, then I have a problem (and again, that's just me...though I know most of the others would agree too). So before I comment on the guy who painted Ind's flag in today's match, first I've to know whether he really was a BD man and second whether he came to watch BD's match yesterday (or would come to any of the BD matches) with BD's flag painted on him.

* And even more so when them winning would help my team out.

** But I wouldn't tolerate getting into stupid arguements over supporting different countries, as some of us back home (heck, even some overseas) still do. Like - ''Ind-supporting BD people'' and ''Pak-supporting BD people'' getting into fight for useless reasons. That's just pathetic.
This is the most sensible post so far in the thread and I must say, I share most of your views on this topic. I dont have a problem with fans supporting other countries, take me for example, in an INd vs Paki match, I will always support Pakis but my favourite team is SA, so in a SA vs Paki game I will be a SA fan but if SA was playing Bangladesh, I would definitely be supporting bangladesh. But even in a Paki vs Ind or a SA vs Paki match, you will never find me painted with Paki or SA flags, I dont like painting stuff on my body, but if if I had to, that places on my body are reserved only for the flag of Bagladesh.

Many people in India have money, and a lot of Indian fans follow their team around, BD is not far from India, they go in droves to SL, used to go to Pakistan, so why should'nt they follow their team to BD?

Whats all this fuss? We just have to make sure that we get to be in such a position when Indians will support Bangladesh when Bangladesh is playing in India.

Are you sure it was Bengali people dressed in Indian flags and facepaints? Because like other people have mentioned it could be travelling Indian fans. If it was Bengali people, then I would be disgusted. I don't mind them going down to watch a match and even liking the style of play of another team, but Bangladesh comes first and you should wear the Bangladesh flag only as this is our national sport and we have a team in the top 10. I wouldnt mind if people wore football shirts during the football world cup for instance, as we don't compete with other teams. Also it can be seen as a fashion item such as the Brazil or Argentinian shirts.

Also we can think about this scenario:
A boy from Manchester, supports Manchester United. And in an ARS-LIV game he puts on a liverpool jersey on his body, paints his face in Liverpool colours. Seems odd. Something very very similiar is happening in Bangladesh atm
Yeah I know what you mean. That would be very odd. I would never wear anything with liverpool on it, so it seems strange to see why other people would wear Indias colours.

lets get one thing straight we are talking about cricket, not the countries that play it. i can decide to support that team for plenty of reason. there is no rule that says that because i'm from this place i have to support the team from that place and if i don't i'm disrespecting that place/nation or their fans. my cousin is a die hard SA fans he's always been that way and he always will. Even when BD vs. SA plays he supports SA over Bangladesh. So what? he is supporting the sports team not the country. if i decide to show up with a India flag in a match against India vs. BD thats because i'm supporting the Indian cricket team and its players not the country. i think when there is a match between BD vs any other nation a lot of our fans see it as if its a war between BD vs. the other nation and you have to support your nation and if you don't than you are back stabbing your nation and its people. as much as i hate most Pak/Indian fans i hate to say it but recently our fans are turning in to more and more like them.

Assda bhai that statement is very wrong. he prefers Indian Cricket Team over the Bangladesh Cricket team, doesn't mean he prefers the Country India over Bangladesh. and why is it so pathetic if he loves Shewag's batting over Ashraful. what's so wrong about it?

If a Bangladeshi supports SA over BD, that is an issue because it's the NATIONal team. If someone supports an SA club team against a BD club team, I could care less about that.

Billah bhai, aami aachi apnar shathe.

There is nothing wrong with supporting players from other teams.

I am not the kind to paint anything on myself. If I must, there are only two countries that I would cover.

Rasel bhaloi juta khawaise. I like his style.
