Here is a Pilot special from 2005 that went unnoticed as we lost the game.

Good find. Pilot at his improvisational and agricultural best. Saved our hide so many times!!! What a warrior. A few points to note though: even after all that slogging, he ended up with a 70% strike rate. And in so many of the shots the ball did not go where intended. He was never a natural batter - yet his single, nay bloody mindedness kept us in business in our early days.

I went to canterbury that day and the ground was packed even it was the last game and BD did not had a chance of getting to the Final . That partnership by Khaled Mashud with another ex-player S Nafees (was his first fifty) was really a treat to watch.
I remember we were laughing as some one wrote "ChaCha" at the end of Khaled Mahmud's run up.

It only seems yesterday. Today I am really pleased I was there.

i feel very sad to see pilot go like this! i am with you pilot! bc is with you pilot!
i am doing a one minute standing 'nirobota' in honour of khaled mashud pilot!
pilot is one of the rare pioneers in bd cricket to take the induvidual responsibility and care to start a district level cricket academy! i cannot comprehend how much hard work and personal effort he must have put in to make the rajshahi cricket academy! k m pilot, you are an inspiration for all of us! salute and best of luck to you in making rajshahi the power house of bd cricket - just like you said, the rest (chittagon, khulna) will follow!
love and peace!

I will remember him for the 6 he hit in the last over against Kenya...
but more importantly i'll remember him for all those times he saved us from humiliation with his batting after the top order failed.
I'll also remember him for providing Bangladesh with world-class wicketkeeping at a time when every other department was far away from being world-class.
Thank you Pilot for all the hard work, thank you for the memories...thanks for giving it your all evreytime you put a BAngladeshi jersey on!

Mashud served Bangladesh well and it was a good decision to retire now instead of getting humiliated later on. I still remember the good old days when he was Bangladesh's best keeper and I guess he still is. We will miss you Mashud!!!

So thats how it all ends. Another one bites the dust. Rafiq, Bashar, Mashud all gone in the same fashion, for the same reason. The amazing "selectors"! Destruction completed.

Ya...I remember that innings..thnx for the video

This is why he is called the unsung hero of Bangladesh. Lots of him good work went unnoticed. One other fact abt Pailot is, He stood up countless time when Bangladesh was in trouble. When he was captain, i remember, how good he was batting those days, after Sumon, he was scoring most runs.

i was hoping to see KM in the NZ series. wouldve been a fitting farewell to a great cricketer. His dedication and determination, a rarity for a bd player, will be greatly missed.

Salute!

I wonder what 'befitting' farewell the board is planning for Masud during NZ series. It better not be 17 taka crest and some cheap talk by head of all heads -Fuli

I guess they will give him some gifts in some post match presentation & do some press conference, Invite for Dinner with the players etc

Not bad if they do.
