He isn't being able to digest that BPL is becoming a successful tournament... But I'm sure that he will turn into a joke himself if BCB can continue to hold on to BPL successfully. He is clearly having an agenda...

I have to say we cannot move on until all payments are cleared for ALL players and staff. It doesn't matter how much people are owed there is a legitimate claim from very many people involved with the BPL.
Everyone has been patient and quiet waiting for the money to be cleared. FICA has been applying diplomatic pressure to get this resolved and they have been acting on behalf of the many foreign players and staff still waiting for their contracted money.
People are starting to see that much is owed and despite claims, locals and foreigners remain unpaid and contracts are uncleared.
In life, it's easy to say what you are going to do, but what matters is what you actually do. Reputations are at stake here. Time will tell if the current situation has destroyed the credibility of many involved.

This is just sad. If paying such sums of money was a problem then why even try to emulate the IPL auction system? They could have set player prices to a level that was financially feasible. I wonder if BPL even had a business plan before launching the tournament. If you do a business plan properly all the financial aspects of it would have been thoroughly assessed and outlined. At this stage BCB should simply pay off the remaining payments and force the franchises to pay off to BCB

FICA and BPL mud-slinging goes on
Federation of International Cricketers Associations chief executive officer Tim May has refuted the allegations that his organisation has an intention of destroying future editions of the Bangladesh Premier League.
The BPL governing council chairman Gazi Ashraf Hossain recently alleged FICA, specially its CEO May, having a vested interest and therefore issuing various statements that have very little substance.
BPL officials also accused May of exaggerating the unpaid amount of foreign players saying that only a handful number of players are yet to be paid fully and that too because of some disputes over players’ injury and bonus payments.
While May claimed BPL franchises owe nearly $600,000, the tournament officials said the amount is no more than $70,000. May termed BPL officials’ recent statement as total nonsense and a deliberate attempt to divert the attention.
‘I have noted that the chairman of the BPL has come out with some words to the effect that only an amount of $70k is owed to players from the inaugural BPL event,’ May said in a statement on Friday.
‘He also alleges that FICA has some plot to destroy the event.
‘This is a total nonsense and a shallow and deliberate action of BPL to take attention away from a BPL administration that is clearly either out of its depth or completely oblivious to the facts of the situation.
‘FICAs sole objective is to ensure BPL and franchises act in accordance with the agreements that they have entered.
‘Under those agreements, the franchises and the BCB (in its capacity as guarantor of player payments) owe a number of players, both foreign and domestic, hundreds of thousands of dollars.
‘They continue to disregard these agreements and to attempt to divert attention from their lack of action, they choose to feed media blatant lies and defamatory accusations about FICAs intentions,’ he said.
May added FICAs intentions are simple - to ensure that the franchises and BCB honor their obligations.
‘FICA has no motive whatsoever in bringing about the demise of the BPL,’ he said.
‘We are not politically motivated - Bangladesh players are members of FICA - and a well run BPL is obviously of benefit to all, particularly Bangladesh players.
‘Why on earth would we mount a campaign that will work against our members’ interests?
‘Our simple obligation to players is to ensure that they are paid as their employment contracts state and to provide advice going forward to players as to the relative risks entering into various events, whether those risks be financial, safety or corruption.
‘We make such recommendations free of fear, favour or discrimination.
‘FICA, players and their managers have tried for months to work with the franchises, BPL and BCB to address this matter.
‘Players and their managers simply have got tired of the endless string of broken promises and excuses provided by these administrators.
‘The irrefutable fact is that hundreds of thousands of dollars are still owed to overseas players and hundreds of thousands more to the local players.
‘Any actions that are contributing to the downfall of the BPL are solely those actions of some of the franchise owners, BPL and BCB,’ May said.

Typical Bangladeshi attitude. Rather than fixing the issue at hand, our president is pointing finger at FICA. How dare they complain about this. BPL happenened four months ago and they are still in the process of figuring out the details regarding players injury and bonuses?

I think this is baseless blaming the BPL. What FICA is doing theyve got every right because simply our franchises have failed to pay. Just imagine, you do all the hardwork and its been like 5 months since youve done the job and u still havent been paid. Thats something that really hurts a player and he will start to lose interest in doing the job again.
You know why we bangalis are so behind everything, we keep blaming others and in the process try to cover up ourselves. For example: I see journalists bashing politicians in every possible way for getting involved in corruption.........and at the same time politicians cursing the same journalisms for yellow journalism
Now I know why we suck

The saying is, "where there is no blame, there is no shame". People who do not admit their mistakes never feel ashamed about their performance. The same is true of cricket as in life.
It is only when those who have responsibility take it, man up and admit problems, that we will see mutual respect and trust. After all, if you cannot trust, what else is left?

BPL foreign players’ payments turns into fiasco
David Bergman and Atif Azam
The payment of wages and financial expenses amounting to over $4,10,000 to 12 of the 46 international players who took part in the Bangladesh Premier League earlier this year is in total confusion.
Interviews with officials over the past two days from the BPL’s governing council, the franchise team owners, and player representatives show that little agreement exists about whether payments have been made or indeed in some cases how much these players should be paid.
Whilst franchise owners are claiming that payments to many of these players have been made, players’ representatives deny it. One agent of the players has gone so far as to claim that one franchise owner ‘had reneged on promises… and [was] playing people for fools.’
The disclosure of the current fiasco comes a week after the Federation of International Cricketers Association had issued a press release which claimed that Bangladesh franchise holders still owed a total of $600,000 to 12 foreign players none of whom were named.
In response, Serajuddin Mohmamed Alamgir, the secretary to the BPL governing council, told journalists that only about $75,000 was owed to foreign players.
Late last week, New Age managed to obtain the names of the 12 players on FICA’s list and since then has been in contact with all the relevant parties.
On Monday evening, Mohammed Alamgir told New Age that three players from the SQ Sports owned Chittagong Kings — Kevin Cooper and Dwayne Bravo from the West Indies and the Zimbabwean Brendan Taylor — had been paid a total of $53,000 and that their agent, ‘Eddie,’ had confirmed payment by e-mail.
The next morning, however, Tim May, FICA’s chief executive, said that he had just been in contact with the players’ ‘manager’ who had
told him that no money had been received in the players’ accounts.
In addition, he said that Bravo was owed $80,000, not the $30,000 that Alamgir stated.
Eddie, who said that he was only the agent of two of the players, refused to comment but added that he had a ‘good relationship’ with the Chittagong franchise.
The agent was, however, less polite about the Europa Group which owns the franchise to Dhaka Gladiators. He said that the franchise ‘had stopped communicating, reneged on promises and try to play people for fools by showing bank transfer sheets but refusing to show an actual statement with the money leaving the account.’
Keiron Pollard helped Dhaka Gladiators to win the trophy with his explosive all-round play.
The BPL governing council secretary told New Age that the franchise holder had shown him documents showing that a payment of $100,000 had been made from an HSBC bank in Malaysia.
Shihab Hossain Chowdhury, a director of the Europa Group, however, contradicted the governing council secretary. ‘I have not been able to make the payment as the bank created some difficulties and the government did not allow payment,’ he said.
FICA’s Tim May confirmed to New Age that no payment had been received and claimed that the player was is, in fact, owed around $150,000.
The other eight players who claim they have not been fully paid are the West Indian Marlon Samuels ($51,000), the South African Herschelle Gibbs ($30,000), the Pakistani Azhar Mahmood ($27,500), the New Zealander Scott Styris ($13,500), the Canadian Rizwan Cheema ($11,000) the Irishman Niell O’Brien (about $19,500), the Dutchman Alexie Karvezee ($5,000) and the Australian Brad Hodge ($3,000).
Sylhet Royals, Duronto Rajshai, and Khulna Royal Bengals are also involved in these disputes.
The only franchise holder which has no disputes with the players is Barisal Burners.
According to one players’ representative, the Bangladesh team franchises promised to pay 75 per cent of the fees midway through the tournament and the remaining 25 per cent within 40 days of the BPL final.

Next Time, BCB should collect all the money ahead of the tournament from the francises, otherwise we might lose interest from Star Players. As PAK players getting nods from IPL6, BPL is already under tremendous pressure...

It also fails to mention that many Dhaka coaching staff are missing payments as well. Expenses remain missing in some cases, too.

The Governing Council need to disqualify the Franchises that fails to pay for the next edition.
BCB should collect a franchisee fee from all the franchises upfront before starting the tournament which could act as the security money in case this sort of scenario happens.
