Spot on...did u read Utpol Shuvro's interview of Ash after the match? He candidly spoke about this attitude problem he has, and admitted that in the past he used to get too carried away after each big inning. But according to him, this has changed with age and experience, and he has a more focused game plan now.

Signs of several eid-days in a year??

there are a bunch of positives in the newest "ashraful scoop":

- ash has matured tho he still hasn't reached his prime...he is still ultra young, has a solid 10 years on his career, and thus won't reach his peak for another couple of years or so...so don't worry!!!

- anyone realize that ash doesn't sound so stupid in his interviews anymore??? i dunno if its the journalism, or if he actually says smarter things, but before he used have this "me first/i'm better than everyone else" kind of attitude which spewed out of every comment he made. now ash sounds a lot more team oriented.

- for those who are worried, ash proves that patience is the course of action...aftab will also eventually arrive and probably sooner than ash did given that aftab has a better coping ability than ash...i do rate aftab as the stupider of the two however and this may have a balancing effect.

- players like saqib and SN who are not as talented as ash/aftab, but who have 10 times the cranial power and grit and determination will also come a long ways...we just have to give them the same time that we gave ash and aftab.

Saqib
Ash
Aftab
Farhad
Mash
Raique
Razzaq

100% agree with you man and still waiting to see they do that. But it's not gonna happen in the world cup. They are gonna play experienced golla through out the WC.

And Ashraful wins
Cricket World ® Player Of The Week award

Bangladeshi batsman Mohammad Ashraful has been named as the Cricket World ® Player Of The Week for his outstanding batting performance against South Africa.

Ashraful scored 87 runs, off 83 balls, as his late charge helped Bangladesh post a total of 251 for 8, which was enough for them to win by 67 runs and throw the World Cup wide open.

Ashraful who, up until that innings, had had a slightly disappointing World Cup, evoked memories of his match-winning century against Australia in Cardiff with another performance that paved the way for the under-rated Bangladeshis to topple the world leading South Africans.

South Africa have since dropped off from the top spot in the world rankings to number two, but as no-one seemed to be giving Bangladesh a chance before the match, their victory was all the more remarkable, and without Ashraful’s 87, it may not have been possible.

Commenting on the award, Website Editor Nick Gear, “Ashraful’s blistering knock was the turning point of the match which set up the stunning victory for the Tigers”

The Cricket World ® Player Of The Week is judged by the www.cricketworld.com Editorial Team, which takes into consideration matches played in the preceding week with the final decision made on Monday morning.

If that is the case, we are simply wasting Ashraful. IMO, Ashraful should bat at no 4 or 5. If he cannot perform there, he should not be cushioned at no. 6.

Or, have we found the perfect place for Ashraful and he will win matches for us from that position?

I am confused.
I think now a days he is learning from his mistake,
He played very well of this year.
Hope we will see some more brilliant innings from his bat.

Too much questionable emphasis on where Ash should bat when our top order continues to falter.

i believe he is improving and this is what i think he needs to work on, not giving too many chances to the opposing team, be cautious, play every innings like you mean it, you can carry our team to heights we have never even dreamed... GO BANGLADESH

He still the same rollercoaster player, but with more downs then ups unfortunately.

concluded series sums his career up so far; great knock 4 century followed by 5 average or below par scores. he is also meant to be the captain??! anyone having doubts now?
