This is what happens when you resist against fascism - you get annihilated.

they need to revisit the punishments. It doesn't fit the crime. He didn't cheat or conspired to do anything.
So someone randomly can approach you and ruin your career.
Smith was handed a 3 day ban by ICC for cheating, it was australia who took it on him for their image. Whereas a Bangladeshi guy didn't cheat but get 2 years by ICC...
Ridiculous. Double standard.

Stop finding conspiracies where none exist. Shakib has accepted his errors and apologised. He wont play for a year. The second year is suspended.

"I am obviously extremely sad to have been banned from the game I love, but I completely accept my sanction for not reporting the approaches," an ICC statement quoted him as saying. "The ICC ACU is reliant on players to play a central part in the fight against corruption and I didn't do my duty in this instance."
"Like the majority of players and fans around the world, I want cricket to be a corruption free sport and I am looking forward to working with the ICC ACU team to support their education programme and ensure young players don't make the same mistake I did."

I remember seeing a known bookies pictures around Indian team - ie next to kohli. Nothing ever happens to those guys.
It's not conspiracy but it's called ICC being a little bi**** to money generating boards.
they are a bi*** to india, eng and aus. as if those players are any more "pure" than the rest but nothing ever happens to them. I remember the 3 days ban.
he didn't commit or attempt or conspired to commit any crime. This isn't exemplary of anything.

All players are aware that they must report any approaches to the ACU. They have ACU training that is mandatory. The quantum of punishment is well defined in the ACU code. Minimum punishment is 6 months and maximum punishment is 5 years for the offence committed by Shakib. If this was a new un experienced player one can understand but a senior experienced player failing to report 3 approaches is plain foolish

Pretty much this. How can you ban someone for two years for this? I mean you could have banned for few matches along with fine. Not a chance same thing happens for any cricketers from india, aus, england etc.

3 days Ban ? A test match is what they were banned for . That is the punishment for tampering with the Ball. it is not some arbitary punishment that is handed out. Sanctions for all offences are defined and players know of it.
Corruption is seen as a more serious offence than ball tampering btw

Its a suspension ... he will be able to play from Oct 2020 unless he commits another "ACU CRIME" within the first year...
but yes - getting banned for a year for something this stupid is just stupidity .... stupid stupid law!!!! what about a warning?

LOL bro please stop with these code of conduct rules. All rules and punishment are subject to discretion of boards. these minimum maximum are very arbitrary. you can argue and try to defend that the approaches do not fit their definition.
All players from all boards are not treated equally. And this is an inappropriate punishment. And specially for a player of his caliber - a brand ambassador of global cricket. It's not always so black and white.
It's like those non violent drug crimes that get 20 years in prison. Yes by books definition you can justify the duration but the "criminal" in this case is some black lady from the hood so it's ok. But it doens't really fit the crime

No they are not at the discretion of the Boards. This is an ICC code and ICC decides the punishments. Perhaps you would like to read the code of conduct before making assumptions

Shakib, being a brand ambassadar , Has to be more vigilant and follow the rules more strictly. He has to set the example for the younger players who look up to him
