In my opinion Shakib is by far the best captain Bangladesh has had so far. Keep in my mind he is still very young and early days in his career. After that humiliating defeat to WI, our players specially him (Shakib) had to endure a lot of criticism and insult from the fans and media. His house was attacked putting his families safety in jeopardy for God's sake. That definitely puts a lot of pressure on you as an individual. I mean let's be realistic here if someone attacked my family I would be shaken and rattled too. So let's give him and our players a break here. They had to go through a lot in these recent days. If we are cheering for them and making them heroes when they win we should also stand behind them when they loose too, that's what makes us loyal fans. This victory was very emotional for him and the team and us fans too. Like it or not we Bengali's are very emotional, it's in our blood. So I don't think there is anything wrong with him shedding a few tears and certainly does not make him a "putu putu" captain as you pointed out. Again this is my own opinion and you don't necessarily have to agree with me.
I totally agree....

shakib al hasan is the best thing that has happened to bangladesh cricket. never disappoints when the world is looking at him.

our best ever captain. born leader. if we look at the captains we have had so far, shakib is the clear best. captain glorious is a ice man, but this win meant so much to all of us! respect.

but i do agree. job is not done. our batting crumbled, though the bowling was good, it shud not have gone down the wire. it did, and shafiul saved us. but a miracle like this wont happen all time. shafiul's self belief will not endure. we need to figure out what went wrong.

imrul kayes' run out was the turning point. we need to look deep into why the crash happen indeed.

but for now, celebrate!

It is good to let Shakib off captaincy, it will relieve some pressure. He will be offered captaincy again in a few years when he will be more than ready, Bangladesh will voyage into a new horizon then

Exactly. Thanks Bancan for clarification.

I am one of the few one who wanted him as captain long time ago, when people said he is too young, it will screw up his career, etc. There is no reason for me to change that opinion now. He is going a fine job as a captain, except some recent non-cricket related stuff that I have some objection.

At this moment he is not replacable.

This picture tells us how much it means to the players, all those 'fans' claiming they weren't serious enough in the game, not giving their 100% will now know what it means to the players.

You need a bit of luck to beat teams like England, Bangladesh had that last night. What a game

I hope people stop's questioning shakib's commitment for the team. He plays his heart out for us, the least we can do is not to throw reckless criticism at him when mistakes are being made.

One of the former national captain who needs to take insulin on regular basis to keep his blood sugar level at bay , seems to be very quite now. I am wondering what is on his mind right now.
