Default Composition of BD team in England

Given that the forthcoming tour of England assumes even greater significance in light of the current ICC machinations vis-a-vis BD's place in world cricket, I thought it would be a good idea to speculate on the composition of BD's test team to face England. Here is my team (in no particular order):

Bashar
Omar
Iqbal
Ashraful
Saleh
Rana
Mashud
Rafique
Haque Jr.
Mortaza
Baisya

I am not concerned with the composition of the ODI team at the moment. However, suggestions are welcome.

How about Aftab Ahmed in place of Omar? He shows more petential than Omar, but Omar is a solid batsman and more suitable opener.. hmmm...

Its more like Aftab over Rana... Rana's just not going to play Tests for BD... he's rather a fixture for the ODI methinks...

Yep, this is the most likely team to be played. Md. Ashraful is the number 5 batsmen.

My only debate would between Rana and Javed Omar, the latter has been struggling of late and will find it very difficult in England.

I think Rana to open may not be a bad idea, but it's a tough decision to make!!

Are we comfortable playing just two pacers in England?

A good point to think.

Aftab may come as a third pacer.

Good luck. Hope this time Bashar will ask Aftab to bowl his medium pace should the team required.

Good luck BD:tiger::tiger:

Here is my prediction:

Opener:
=======
1. Nafis Iqbal
2. Aftab Ahmed

Solid battting
==========
3. Rajin Saleh
4. Habibul Bashar

Middle order
=========
5. Ashraful Haque
6. Khaled Mashud

All rounder
========
7. Mohammed Rafique
8. Mashrafe Mortaza
9. Tapash Baisya

10. Manjurul Islam Rana
11. Enamul Haque jnr

I believe with 2 spacers (mashri/Tapsh) and 3 spinners (rafiq/enamul/rana), we will have a better team.

1.nafis
2.shahriar nafees(1st choice)/javed
3.bashar
4.rajin
5.ash
6.aftab
7.masud
8.rafiq (1st choice)/enam/manju
9.mashree
10.najmul/sharif(if performs well in zim)
11.tapash

for one dayers i would play 1 spinner and for test 2 spinners. it will be foolish to play 2 spinners for 1 dayers because the pitch will be helpful for bowlers who can seam (najmul, mashree) and swing (mashree, tapash). for batting i would not take javed as he is vunerable to bouncer and also shariar nafees did very wel when he came here with bd u19. but he has to perform well in zimbabwe to get a place.

want to include chacha because of the seaming condition.but can't find a place for him.omar will stay in the side and we should leave rana out of the test side.we need one extra batsman than a spinner.

i dunno whether england is a good place for promising player like shahriar nafees to start his career...i rather see him play srilanka in our own turf... definately no rana in the test team....javed omar and nafees are doing fine as opening pair right now and we shouldnt break that....so my team is gona be like.... nafis, javed, bashar, rajin, ash, aftab, masud, rafique, masrafee, taposh and nazmul/enamul.......

May be very early to comment on him, but if Wascorni takes a few more wickets he may be drafted into the national side, after all we've seen Nazmul fast tracked also.
