Default I love "Abuls", do you!?

I must say I am so impressed with the performances of the likes of "Abul" & Co.

From selecting our team to fielding, bowling, you won't see such performers in any other side/country in the cricketing wold. I used to play with these kind of Abuls in my boyhood and the opposition used to send the balls to the other side of the para/moholla, same we saw Dilshan and Co. did last night.

And ESPNcricinfo thinks Visitors succumb to Dilshan assault
I wonder if "Abul & Co." minds reading CI headline that CI put down their efforts without giving due credits!!!?

Well, here is my respect for our selectors, team management, BCB officials for showing consistency as "Abuls".

Sorry to say this but Abul is the selectors creation. They picked him because he seemed young promising, strong, quick. But they didnt give any consideration to his domestic record and experience. This mindset questions why we even need domestic cricket? Just for fun or the sake of having it?

I think Abul is one of the worst players to have ever played international cricket as a specialist bowler. I can't think of a bowler who looked so hopeless and out of place in international arena. Even Shahadat has sparks of decent-ness, Abul on the other hand, has nowhere to go.

We have Ashrafuls and we have Abuls.... they complements each other.

Yes as long as we have Ashrafuls, we need an Abul also to take the hit from Asrafuls.

While the experieced superstars hits two eid innings, and play like Abuls for the rest of the year, the poor inexperienced under-prepared Abuls gets most the hit from the fans.

While "Ashrafuls" survives years after years, Abul's career get short ended by both BCB (throwing him in fire too soon) and fans (not patient enough). The original Abul's career is pretty much over .... or will be over pretty soon.

The real question is when the original Abul leave the team, who will be the next "Abul" in the team? Because we need them to save "Ashrafuls" from getting all the heat.

Now I hear suggestion about opening Zia instead. I have no problem with that. However I am guessing before the ZIm series ends, Zia will be the next Abul in fan's eye.

Its pity to see instead of being fanboy, ppl demanding more of these... hope this is just expression of frustration. For me to watch these Abuls in our team to play internation cricket is a torture for quite a while now.

Fazal bhai, I an not saying it's all Raju's fault! Though, he should know how to bowl maintaining line and length.

I want to know what the team management sees in him that we don't see?
Why selectors through him into the fire so early? Without being prepared??

Looking how our pace bowling is, why BCB is not taking any actions?
Why not higher a pace bowling coach knowing our pacers are not improving under SJ?

Fair enough questions. But does it have to be "Abul" thread to ask these questions? You replace this name i.e. "Abul" with "Ashraful", "Rubel", "Shahadat", "Junaid","Rube", "Shafiul" and even "Anamul" etc, and you can ask these questions....the same problem were there before Abul came to the lime light, and the issue will continue to stay even Abul will be successfully eliminated from the team. This is not the first time:

  • An under prepared player was tried and failed
  • A talented player kept his position even when he failed to under perform consistently.
  • "Unlucky"/"Step child" again get injured in the wrong time.
And this will not be the last time that will happen.

yes Abul under performed in this ODI, and yes if he is dropped from the team no body will drop tears for him. But picking up this young man to symbolize our deeper problem within BCB/team? Don't you think we (the fans) are taking easy way out to prove a point here?

Yes he was part of the problem, but was he the only player in the team why we lost the game?
