I agree, israr because we bowled Kiwis out twice on their own soil. On our own soil, then we can do much better.
We need to realign our batting line.
Include Rafiq in bowling, the spin web of BD will be a killer for SA.

I am not a clairvoyant, and not trying to be 'nostradamus' overhere. But I strongly believe in these quotes;
"An affirmative thought is 100% stronger than a negative one."
"Whatever the mind of man can conceive, it can achieve."
- W.Clemmet Stone (1902-2002)
"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions."
- Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

Well, I don't want to coerce anyone into posting in this thread, but if your love for Bangladesh cricket is genuine, then post optimistic and positive statements about our forthcoming series against the Proteas and Ireland here. To other Bangladesh cricket lovers thinking otherwise, I implore them to change their minds and reveal better thoughts, but if they're still adamant with their negative views, then please refrain from posting.

Once again, I want to make clear I am not talking about thoughts such as 'respectable defeats' or 'taking the game to the 5th day', but about 'vanquishing the opponents' and 'emerging victorious'.

Now, as you type in, be specific and brief(like how I've done above). In addition, I request the poster to close their eyes and envision and visualize the sentence they've just typed in and strongly believe that it will occur in reality as well.

I am quite serious about this and hopefully you guys shall cooperate and adhere to what I've mentioned.

Thanks a lot!!
Those quotes are effective only to the participants, since we (fans) are not playing, there is difference between positive thinking and day dreaming.

A positive thinking would be 'BD will perform better at home against any opponent as Australia got taste of it.

Day Dreaming would be predicting BD win against any top 7 test-teams.

I'm quite confident for the next series against South Africa... in the last two home test series Bangladesh had a draw to India and went close to beat Australia in the famous Fatullah match... so I'm waiting for something good from this series too.

IT will happen!!!
as ridicoulus as it sounds, i believed that the bd team's lack of perfomance was due to my support for them. BUT my jinx is gooooooooonnnnnnnneeeeeee!!
After watching spurs thrash arsenal in what can only be described as a 'sensational match' and ending the gunners 8 year undeafeted run against us, i can proudly say that BD cricket will also do some serious thrashing in the coming series

I hope and pray a 3-0 win for BD. Though, its cricket! Anything can happen in a given day!! If we can think to beat SA, IR could beat us too. Simple logic, eh?
Weren't we beaten in WC by the Irish, neh?

SA test series:1-1
SA one-day series : 1-2
Ireland Series: 2-0 ( Ireland had to go back home after being traumatised by the losses)
Look, I really believe there's a chance of all the above happening. Winning one ODI against SA, can happen. But the important one- a test win- can also happen. Imagine another great start by T. Iqbal- Junaed opening in 1st innings 1st match, followed by great innings by Ash, Alok the comeback boy and great amount of contributions throughout in batting. Then some great spin bolwing backed up by 3 pacers should do the trick.

Easy

Optimism by all fans here are great to see, let's hope that all our prayers and well wishes follow the players.

If they believe in themselves, they can win a few games. i dont know about really winning a test match, but they must put up a better fight here than what they did against NZ. Here, they are playing on home ground, so they should score better.
If they play the same way as they did in the world cup against SA, they should win at least one ODI.
Concerning Ireland, they must try to win all the games. They should never allow an associate team to beat them.

draws won't happen...we can't bat that well. in order to force a draw, we have to score around 500 runs in an innings, which won't happen.

chance of loss, 95 %
chance of win, 4.9 %
chance of draw 0.1%

Believe me or not, I had a strange dream:

"Ash, in pre-match conference was saying: Inshallah we have no doubt that we will win this series against SA. I have found our S Rasel just inplayable in the nets."

Honestly, I didn't make it up.

Doesn't this post belong to the Forget cricket thread "what did you dreamt last night?". May be Orpheus would be able to explain it much better than the cricket pundits here in Bangladesh cricket section. Speaking of honesty, be my guest.

Bangladesh will thrash Ireland 3-0 this March, 2008.

Good thoughts! But I suspect that this will benefit only if the players think this way. You and I thinking this way will create unecessary pressure on the players. If they can persuade themselves that the above is achievable, no doubt it will be...

The Irish team have already beaten us in the world cup, which also the only occassion we've met. I wouldn't be surprised if we struggle to win the series against them, though the pitches will definitely be on our side. South Africa on the other hand, will probably give us a good thrashing. I really hope our boys are working hard for this tour. We need to gain some sort of respect back.

No way! they, the National coach and assistant coach are taking an extended break.
Prep camp starts on the 1st February for 2 weeks which in my opinion is quite short after the very poor and humiliating showing in NZ. i am really amazed at Siddons unprofessional attitude and the BCB for allowing this to happen so close to another series against the N0 2 team in the world. Seems that no one really cares, only us FANS.
