BDFlag Termination Letter

Mr Ashraful,

We the undersigned would like to thank you for your valuable time that you have invested in our cricket. Few moments of heartfelt joy from years ago cannot mask the stench that is absolute failure for last 5 years. You have been afforded every opportunity to correct your short comings, however you didn't avail yourself to those chances. At this moment your services are no longer in tune with what is required for our organization and you do not fit in with is required for the future.

We hereby terminate our relationship effective immediately.

On behalf of grateful nation would like to thank you for your time served and wish you a wonderful and prosperous future.

Thank you

All he needs is one good innings to seal his position for another 5 years.

And we should give him another 50 innings to that.

BTW he needs to play 29 matches to reach 200 ODI by an individual player. Which is a great achievement? Right/Wrong?

Why accusing/bashing Ash ??? Its his not fault that after epic fail each time, SELECTORS want him to be in the team.

If your boss hire a dumb, then don't blame the dumb. Blame the boss.

Our selectors, who are in love with Ash, should give their termination letter. If they cant find a player who's average will be more than 10.11 in 18 matches, then its Selectors inability, unfitness.

Rich, tall, dark and handsome. Ashraful seems to have it all. Now in a new self-help titled book "Rise from the Ashes: What does it take to be successfool like me?" motivational speaker and billionaire mogul, entrepreneur Ashraful highlights the key to his success. Ash gives us the scoop:

Quote:
Many people who do have self-motivation, quickly get enthused and inspired by a new idea. Getting excited or even thrilled by an idea might be great for the moment. Cricket, however, requires constant activity. If you want to establish and develop a repertoire you need a high level of consistency also known as "stickability". Once you have made the decision to set up your base, you must follow through this decision with consistency. Think about your life — can you come up with an example where you have proved your consistency, your "stickability"? Did you ever want to learn to play an instrument or a sport or a learn a foreign language? How long did you stick to your plan? How much time did you spend on your project and what have you accomplished? Chances are that you started a lot of projects and half way through the course you quit because things got tough and you lacked stickability. If this is the case — fear not. You are not alone. The truth is that most people quit as soon as things get more difficult. Making a long-term commitment is not easy for most people. This applies to personal relationships too. Take a look at the divorce rate in our country and you'll understand what I mean. So, before you take on the task of establishing your game, check whether you are able to make a long-term commitment, whether you possess consistency and stickability.
You can pre-order his best selling memoir at Amazon priced at $19.99 or as Ash calls it 'kush' price.

Re: Post #17, I also recommend the highly enjoyable Finding Your Inner Ash where brilliant game theorist Dr. M Ashraful highlights how to enter the zone or as he prefers the neologism "Ash Equilibria". Dr. Ashraful talks at length about his long term battle with mental health. NY Times reviews this critically acclaimed page-turner as 'Superb!' 'Mesmerizing!' 'Ash-tonishing!'

Following is a brief excerpt from the book:

Quote:
....This is often where the internal battle begins. The Inner Critic has been keeping the Inner Ash muffled and secluded. When the self starts to rebel and the Inner Ash are finally released to be present to talk about their feelings, sometimes the selves lose control and play havoc with people's lives. So perhaps by reading this article you can begin to transform the Inner Critic to be a good internal parent, begin to listen the Inner Ash and to allow them to have fun and be heard. It is also important to keep a balance in your life. The Inner Ash need emotional and psychological limits.

Examples of some of the Ashraful you might find inside are:

The Playful Ash
That self that is naturally playful, creative, spontaneous and fun loving Ash. This self longs to play. Many of us have forgotten how to do this without guilt or anxiety that as adults we must be doing something that is worthwhile.

The Spoiled Ash
That part of us wants what they want and they want it now, and if they don’t get what they want, they throw temper tantrums.

The Neglected Ash
The self that was always left alone without much nurturing and love. They don’t believe they are lovable or worthwhile. They don’t know how to love. They are depressed and want to cry.

The Abandoned Ash
This self has been left in some way like divorce or adoption or just left because the parents were kept busy working. They are always fearful that they will be abandoned again and again. This part of the self is starving for extra attention and reassurance that they are safe and okay. This self is very lonely.

The Fearful Ash
This part has been overly criticized when they were small. Now they are anxious and are in panic much of the time. They need lost of encouragement and positive affirmations.

The Unbonded Ash
This Inner Ash never learns to be close to anyone. They are isolated. Intimacy feels alien and scary. Trust is a basic issue.

The Discounted Ash
This is a part of the self that was ignored and treated as though they did not exist. They don’t believe in themselves and need lots of love to assist and support them.

These are all possibilities of the different Inner Ashraful that might be inside. There are many other selves as well. Perhaps the Ego self, or the self that hold shame, or the self the holds the information that was given to them by their parents or teachers or society as a whole.

At the risk of getting severely bashed, I'm still going to side with Ash - but I think he should be sent to International Cricket Exile for a year. In that time, he can figure out what he was doing wrong, he can improve on the psychological aspects of his game (his technique and skills are beyond debate, even to his biggest haters) and one year later when/if he comes back, nobody remembers him, and expectations are low. Ashraful needs a fresh start. I know it sounds stupid, but this is what I irmly believe.
