Default Help-Information needed on Bd stadiums

I know someone who is creating a website on stadiums throughout the world.

He only had information on the Bangabandhu Stadium, and this looked poor compared to information and pictures on other countries like Pakistan.

I dont want people to think we have no stadiums in Bd so I have helped him with what information I know.

I gave him pics of Bangabandhu and MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong. I also gave information (capacity, year built) what I knew of these two and others such stadiums.

Below is the information I know, but if anything wrong please post correct information:

Bangabandhu- built ?,capacity: 36,000
MA Aziz- built: 1950, capacity: 20,00
Sher-e-Bangla Mirpur- built 1970,capacity: 30,000
Fatullah Stadium- built 2002, capacity: 20,000
Kamlapur Stadium- built 2003, capacity: 20,000
Sylhet Stadium- built ?, capacity: 15,000

I know we have stadiums in Rajhasi, Brisal etc, but I dont know there names or capacity etc. Also I know new divisional stadiums are being built but have no information on them as well.

If you have any information on Bd stadiums (football, cricket etc) then please post details and any pics.

I want to show that Bd does have stadiums. I will provide link of website when completed.

Thanks for those Eshan. We have enough pics of Bangabandhu and Chittagong now, so dont need more of these stadiums.

Others stadiums would be nice such as Mirpur stadium, Kamlapur stadium and Fatullah stadium.

The person who is doing this website is sharda non- bengali and I dont know him. But I just dont want Bd to look shi*t in the website. So come on help.

Yeah, a stadium picture section would be great to have on this site, especially as there are new Divisonal stadiums being built. I know a few of them will be used in the Under 19 World Cup.

What do you think Teshin, Fwullah etc.

Why Bangladesh Cricinfo has some nice links to different cricket stadiums of Bangladesh.

Profile:
The Bangabandhu Stadium holds the distinction of hosting Pakistan's first ever match in Test cricket. This was in 1955, when Bangladesh was part of Pakistan. Dacca Stadium (as it was known then) hosted 7 Tests up to 1969 before Bangladesh achieved independance in 1971. The stadium since has been the main cricket stadium in the country, being renamed first to the National Stadium and then to the Bangabandhu National Stadium in honor of the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Although there have been various 'A' Team matches and friendly matches over the years, it was not until 1988 when top-level international cricket returned to the stadium when Bangladesh hosted the third Asia Cup. There was a wait of 10 years until the next official ODI tournament when Bangladesh took on Pakistan and India in the Independence Cup, celebrating 25 years of Bangladesh autonomy. India won both of these tournaments.

Located to the north of the main city area nearby Purana Paltan Road and Bangabandhu Avenue, the outer rim of the stadium holds an entire shopping centre plus other offices, including the Bangladesh Cricket Board. It is a bowl-shaped ground providing little other than temporary canvas shade for the majority of the spectators. Much renovation work was carried out in 1998 for the prestigous Wills International Cup, including a new electronic scoreboard (made by the same company who installed the new scoreboards in the Gabba, Lord's and some South African grounds), new media centre, new corporate boxes, and the floodlights (acknowledged by some as the best in the world).

The ground also plays host to football, but as Bangladesh becomes more and more a serious cricketing nation, the ground is also becoming solely dedicated to cricket.

Default sylhet

I don't know why they don't upgrade the facilities and play international matches in sylhet. the air is clean(er) compared to the urban wasteland that is dhaka, the atmosphere is much more relaxing, they could tie in some tourism with the tea garden tours, holy shrines, architecture. Not sure about hotels, but there are many guest houses and more could be set up.
