Season Thread: Bangladesh Cricket League 2012-13
Bismillah.
Thought we should have a separate thread for the actual matches for the premier tourney. Best of luck to all teams and players. Hope this marks a new era for cricket in Bangladesh!
North vs East Zone @ Bogra delayed due to fog...hope we get a full day's play in still.

North Zone off to a very strong start...125-1. South Zone in trouble at 68-3 having lost Soumya and Anamul cheaply.

Match Fees:
First 12 players(Playing XI + 12th man): Tk 40,000 per match
Non-playing 5 players: Tk 20,000 per match
Player of the match: Tk 25,000
Player of the league: Tk 1,00,000
Points System:
The points system resembles that of the recently concluded NCL with six points for an outright win. A bonus point will be awarded to a team if it either wins a match by 10 wickets or by an innings.
The reason why Alauddin Babu and Nazimuddin not included in 16 Member squads:
Meanwhile Rangpur's all-rounder Alauddin Babu, who had a good run in the recently concluded NCL, and Chittagong batsman Nazimuddin, who played in Bangladesh's first Test against the West Indies in November, were excluded from the selection process as penalty for not participating in the Victory Day match on December 16, informed Akram Khan.

3 wickets to Tapash
Meanwhile Abul Hasan will average 100 in Test Cricket because he won't be picked unless he improves his bowling

Abul Hasan doesn't know how to bowl properly still cannot even get 1 wicket in the long version. Bangladesh will never be a very good Cricket team if they don't have quality pacers which is essential in Cricket.

the selectors need to worry less about extreme pace and think more about bowlers who perform and take wickets consistently. 140kph bowlers are a dime a dozen these days, plenty of bowlers bowl at that speed and therefore the batsmen have no problem with it. a 130kph bowler who has good control, can seam and swing the ball will probably have superior results at the international level than a 140kph bowler who has no control and doesn't seem or swing much.
