Shakib hopes to be back for Zim tour
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan spent the morning of his 26th birthday yesterday in the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s National Cricket Academy strictly adhering to his rehabilitation process.
After an hour-long gym session, the left-hander spoke to the media for the first time since last month’s operation in Sydney.
“I am working hard under the academy trainer (Stuart Karppinen). I hope to be fit before the series against Zimbabwe in April,” said Shakib. “As per the guidelines of the trainer, I began running yesterday and did not face any trouble. I still have not started bowling or batting, I hope to do that from next week onwards,” he added.

I am sure you are great in some ways. I am sure you can do some things that Shakib can't. The difference is what Shakib does involves media, yours probably don't.

Thank you for the info, Jonas!
In fact, the other day, I was searching all the county Twitter handles and skimmed through tweets mentioning Shakib regarding his county stint but found nothing.
So, have they signed him only for the T20? I don't think Bangladesh has any hectic schedule whatsoever during the summer, so it'd be nice if he ends up playing a handful of FC & List A matches in the English summer conditions!

A quick research, Razzaq is the other overseas player for Leics in the Friends Life T20. Josh Cobb & Niall O'Brien also play for them, so Shakib has some known company!

T-20 does not have division. Leicestershire are in Division 2 of County Championship. They have won this tournament 3 times since it was launched in 2003. Last was in 2011.
BTW this is where Brad Hodge become a T-20 special.

I wont be surprised if Shakib plays couple of 4- Day match. I see 3 possibilty. Against Essex @ Grace. Shakib probably will use that to adjust to the condition. There is one County match right in the middle of T-20 season in Essex, I am sure hundreds of thousand of Londonbashi will be hoping Shakib plays that. And third one is very slim if Leicestershire qualify, which they will even without Shakib, trust me. He may stay on play few matches.
And let me clerify. Up to 4 overseas players can be registered by each team through out the County Season. Only 1 can be in playing XI for County (4-day FC) and CB-40 (List-A). But for T-20 a team can field 2 overseas players.
( This what I know, if there are other small prints I have not read in ECB rulebook please correct me)

Only the best will do for Foxes as Shakib signs on for Twenty20
By PHIL GRADWELL
The best one-day international all-rounder in the world will play for Leicestershire in this season's Friends Life t20.
Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan will be the Foxes' second overseas star for the competition - with Australia A batsman Joe Burns - and his signing is quite a coup.
As well as being named the No 1 all-rounder in the Reliance ICC Player rankings in ODIs, Shakib, 26, is second in the Test match list and seventh in the T20I standings.
Great shakes: Shakib Al Hasan (left) congratulates Chris Gayle after a match at the 2011 World Cup
Leicestershire Head Coach Phil Whitticase said: 'I’m really pleased that we have been able to sign a player who was recently ranked the best one-day player in the world.
Shakib’s record is exceptional and I am looking forward to him helping us to achieve success in the Friends Life t20 competition this year.'
Shakib was a team-mate of Leicestershire's Josh Cobb at Bangladesh Premier League winners Dhaka Gladiators and is one of the most dangerous Twenty20 players in world cricket.

Leicestershire CCC snap up world's top ODI all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan
Leicestershire Foxes have signalled their intention to mount a serious challenge in this season's Friends Life T20 by signing Bangladesh international Shakib Al Hasan for the tournament.
The 26-year-old left-hander will join Australian rising star Joe Burns in the Foxes' ranks as they attempt to recapture the energy and form that took them to a third T20 crown in 2011.

^Lol. I don't understand the logic behind putting up a photo of Shakib handshaking with Gayle. Are they trying to say that Shakib has now become Gayle after handshaking with him? :P
